NBA: Celtics fans shivered.
Porzingis himself announced his injury:
Behind the smile is…

There is no doubt that the Boston Celtics’ chances of success depend largely on the health of Kristaps Porzingis this season.

Fans of the Boston team could have trembled when, during Friday’s match, the Latvian had to leave the court prematurely due to a calf injury.

However, the interested party himself delivered optimistic news on Saturday.

The Boston Celtics have had a successful start to the season, and one of the main reasons for this is the great form of Kristaps Porzingis.

However, on Friday the Celtics lost to the Orlando Magic, and to make matters worse, Porzingis did not finish the match. The reason was a calf injury.

— I felt something strange, but I continued playing.

I felt some tension, and you saw that I was limping a little. After that, the medical staff decided to withdraw me from the game, Porzingis said in a conversation with reporters after the game.

On Saturday, the center underwent appropriate tests in Boston and announced on social media that he had received “good news” and that he would return to the game soon.

Celtics fans can probably breathe a sigh of relief, but there’s no denying that they will be very nervous every time Porzingis is on the injured list.

The Latvian has not played an NBA season in which he played more than 60 games since 2017.

He has missed only one match so far in the current competition, and in the summer he struggled with a foot injury, which prevented him from playing in the World Championships.

For now, it is certain that Porzingis will not play in the Celtics’ game against the Atlanta Hawks on Sunday.

He will most likely be replaced in the top five by Al Horford.

The 28-year-old center has so far appeared in 15 games for the Boston team, averaging 18.9 points and 6.7 rebounds per game with a career-best field goal percentage of almost 55 percent.
