NBA – Big revelation about a teammate of Rudy Gobert: “The Lakers and Clippers were…

La superstar NBA des Los Angeles Lakers, LeBron James, pourrait bien voir l'un de ses coéquipiers prochainement faire équipe avec Rudy Gobert aux Minnesota Timberwolves

The Timberwolves are walking on water at the start of the season and Rudy Gobert is back at his best.

However, there is another player who participates in this collective success… but who could have offered his services to the Lakers or the Clippers.

The disillusionment of last year already seems to be ancient history for the Timberwolves.

Indeed, Chris Finch’s players have been able to find the right fuel at the start of the season and are showing a completely different face.

Thanks to this, they currently occupy first place in the Western Conference (11-4), largely thanks to their defensive prowess often highlighted by experts.

This defense led by Rudy Gobert, back at his highest level, is enough to frighten the other big names in the league.

The squad surrounding the Frenchman seems much more united, even if it is not that different from last year.

Indeed, the big arrivals mainly took place before the last offseason, with the arrival of the French pivot and another player… to the detriment of the Lakers and the Clippers.

Lakers and Clippers passed very close to a Wolves executive?

Cohesion is one of the reasons for Wolves’ current success.

However, this characteristic was not necessarily perceptible throughout last season.

The arrival of Mike Conley, however, helped to change things.

But while Gobert is delighted with the presence of the leader in the Minnesota roster, the latter almost did not join him and went elsewhere according to Jon Krawczynski of The Athletic:

Conley remained in constant communication with his agent and even listened attentively to information reported by different journalists in order to find out about rumors concerning him.

In particular, he kept an eye on the Lakers and the Clippers, two teams hoping to qualify for the playoffs and in need of an experienced playmaker.

But as the trade deadline grew closer, there was still no tangible sign that the Jazz were preparing a major move involving Conley.

So much so that her family was starting to get used to the idea that she was preparing to stay in Utah… at least until the end of the season.

A revelation which obviously does not come out of nowhere, since there were indeed rumors linking Conley to the Lakers in particular.

The latter ultimately did business with Utah by sending Russell Westbrook there… but in a deal with 3 teams having notably offered them D’Angelo Russell.

“Money Mike” flew to Minneapolis, where he now seems to be thriving and bringing happiness to his teammates.

Despite alleged interest from the Lakers and the Clippers, Mike Conley did not head to Los Angeles on the sidelines of the last trade deadline.

Now a Timberwolves player, he can rejoice in this scenario given the form of his franchise.
