Despite quite diverse results at the start of the season, Celtics, Lakers and Warriors could be among the main movers in the transfer market in the weeks to come. All of them would also be targeting the same surprising player.

From a purely accounting point of view, it is difficult to say that the three teams are currently in the same situation. Indeed, while the Celtics sit at the top of the Eastern Conference (14-4) and are off to a good start to the season, Lakers and Warriors are in much poorer form in the West. The Dubs (8-10) are more to be pitied, who are already a little behind their Californian neighbors (11-8).

As you will have understood, each franchise can draw different conclusions from its first weeks of competition. However, like every year, all three should take part in the traditional arms race in which the candidates for the title engage. And as is often the case, it could be that their front offices are exploring the same avenues in order to fill similar gaps in their workforce.

Celtics, Lakers and Warriors in the fight… for a little-known replacement

Given its excellent start, Boston has little interest in shaking up its roster with a major trade. A statement that does not seem so obvious for Los Angeles and Golden State, whose level leaves much more to be desired. Regardless, not all of them would certainly be against reinforcements to strengthen their rotation. And according to Michael Scotto of HoopsHype, they share the same target:

Replacement winger John Konchar could potentially be the subject of a deal before the February trade deadline. HoopsHype has learned that the Celtics, Warriors and Lakers are among the teams keeping tabs on Konchar’s situation from afar.

Arriving as an undrafted player in Memphis in 2019, Konchar gradually found his place there and spent the last four seasons there.

The American guard/winger was thus able to provide some services to the Grizzlies thanks to his 3&D profile, he who played a total of 219 matches in his career, including 32 as a starter. However, he could apparently pay the price for his loss of skill this year (34.9% shooting, 32.0% at 3pts) and potentially join the end of the bench of a contender. A scenario that would obviously not displease fans of its current franchise:

Lol are you all sure you want “Kardio Konchar”?

Despite his recent decline, John Konchar would have proven his value enough with the Grizzlies to interest some good people on the market. However, it remains to be seen whether the Celtics, Lakers or Warriors will really take action on him.
