Draymond Green contre Jusuf Nurkic

Guilty of a blow to the face of Jusuf Nurkic, Draymond Green will be suspended by the NBA this week. Few doubts about that. The interior was distraught for the umpteenth time, especially since his opponent did nothing special. Nurkic responded at a press conference, while the Warrior gave a… dubious explanation.

The Warriors lost by 3 points against the Suns this Tuesday (116-119). A frustrating defeat, especially when we know that Steve Kerr’s men had to do without the services of Draymond Green for a good period. In question ? A new cracking of the player, for a change. A few weeks after choking an opponent, Green this time threw a punch (watch again here).

Jusuf Nurkic pays Draymond Green

Number 23 tried to make people believe that the gesture was involuntary, but the images are quite telling. These will be viewed by the NBA this Wednesday, while we await a new suspension after this slip-up. Jusuf Nurkic did not spare Green at the press conference. He believes the Warrior needs help.

Nurkic on Green: “What’s wrong with him?” I don’t know. Personally, I think this guy needs help. I’m glad he didn’t try to strangle me. At the same time, it has nothing to do with basketball. »

We are now waiting to know the sanction for Green, who will be suspended within 24/48 hours by the NBA once again. A rare thing: the person concerned quickly appeared in front of the journalists to try to justify himself.

In front of the media, Green explained that he simply wanted to “sell” the fault to the referees by waving his arms, but that he never wanted to hit Nurkic.

Green: “He was pulling me by the hip and I tried to pull away in order to sell the fault. Let there be contact. As you know, I don’t like to apologize for things I wanted to do, but I apologize to Jusuf because I didn’t mean to hit him.

I wanted to sell the fault by waving my arms. I don’t do it by dropping to the ground, I’m not a flopper. I wanted to sell the fault because he pulled me by the hip so I wanted to move away, and unfortunately I hit him. So as I say I want to apologize to Jusuf, because I didn’t want to hit him.”

A dubious excuse to say the least, especially when you see the slow motion. It will be up to the NBA to decide, but we very much doubt that this justification will allow the interior to escape a heavy sanction. Very quick response expected.
