NBA – After his all-time card, Gregg Popovich honest on Wembanyama: “He doesn’t…

Despite the defeat, Victor Wembanyama impressed everyone against Denver with a very high level performance. A domination which obviously did not escape Gregg Popovich, the San Antonio coach having a few words about his foal to journalists. And it caused a reaction on the web.

The conditions were really special for Victor Wembanyama. On the one hand, he was playing for the first time in Denver, a high-altitude city where opponents always have a little trouble shining.

On the other hand, he was facing a huge client in Nikola Jokic, NBA champion and two-time regular season MVP. Not easy on paper… but we can say that the French nugget did very well.

Author of a historic performance against the Serbian and his teammates, the former Mets shined on the floors on both sides of the field. The Spurs left with a 12th consecutive defeat in their pocket, but he at least was able to stand out in a positive way. Gregg Popovich, coach of the Texans, particularly highlighted his ability to make the game more fluid rather than hogging the ball at the slightest opportunity:

Popovich delighted with Victor Wembanyama’s progress

Pop says Wemby is improving steadily: “He plays aggressively, he affects the game in different ways.

He counters shots, he scores his points, he is a willing passer, a very altruistic passer. But whatever happens, he moves on to the next play. He is not afraid of making a mistake.

The least we can say is that Pop’ seems delighted with the progress of his very young interior and that is understandable.

When we see him deliver such a performance against a double MVP, all in just 25 minutes, there is reason to be impressed and above all enthusiastic about what comes next. However, Internet users still found something to complain about, namely Wemby’s low playing time:

Is that why Pop takes him out of the match and forgets to bring him in again?

Wemby was on the bench a lot in the second half, Pop is senile

We remind you that the conditions are different in Denver because of the altitude, which pushed Victor Wembanyama to be quickly cooked.

However, the fact is that Spurs conceded a fatal 20-2 during one of his stints on the bench, thus sealing the outcome of the match. And this isn’t the first time this has happened…
