AL Horford is the NBA All-Star big man with a wife to match his credentials.

The 37-year-old from Dominican Republic has enjoyed a stellar basketball career at the top level.

He is a five-time NBA All-Star and still competing with the Boston Celtics after 15 years in the league.

Horford has also won off the court after marrying a former Miss Universe champion.

The NBA star tied the knot with Amelia Vega in 2011 and they now have five kids together.

Amelia, 39, was born in the Dominican Republic, and was crowned Miss Universe in 2003.

She was only 18 years old when she won the event and was the first ever Dominican Republic contestant to take home the crown.

Following her win, Vega told reporters she was “so happy.”

“I’m so proud to be able to work with (AIDS patients), to support them, maybe not as much as some people would like, but everything I can give, I will give.”

Vega has 1.5 million followers on Instagram, where she often shares a behind-the-scenes look at their family life.

And her talents aren’t limited to just beauty pageants.

She is also an author who has published a children’s book dedicated to her family.

Vega is the niece-in-law of the Grammy Award-winning singer, Juan Luis Guerra.

Horford may never have struck NBA championship glory – but he seemingly has won one of life’s biggest prizes off the court.
