“Lakers should trade him for Zach LaVine”: The price is too big..

NBA – “The Lakers should trade him to get Zach LaVine”

Weighed down by a few injuries at the start of the season, the Lakers are leaving some observers wanting more and have therefore found themselves in the rumors concerning Zach LaVine. A veteran has even already imagined the outlines of a trade in this matter.

Given the cascade of withdrawals and absentees that they have deplored since the resumption, their current 6th place in the West (8-6) is relatively encouraging. And yet, the Lakers should already turn everything upside down according to some. It must be said that the arrival on the market of Zach LaVine would not have gone unnoticed by Los Angeles. It didn’t take much to ignite the NBA world and for rumors to abound.

The Lakers condemned to part with an executive for LaVine?

Supposedly unhappy with the Bulls, LaVine would be tempted by the prospect of a new challenge and by a potential move to the Lakers. The position of the latter remains difficult to establish following the latest reports on the subject. However, that didn’t stop Gilbert Arenas from putting himself in the shoes of the L.A. leaders in his Gil’s Arena and imagining what their package could well look like:

We can get rid of Gabe Vincent, Rui Hachimura and “Lemon Daddy” (Austin Reaves). We like him, but he can go away. I like AR but the Lakers should trade him to get Zach. Because at the end of the day, there would still be D-Lo, who can do good things, with Zach, Bron and AD.

Thus, despite Reaves’ sporting contribution as well as his popularity with fans, sacrificing him would be necessary in the eyes of Arenas.

In any case, according to the former scorer, keeping D’Angelo Russell and his talents at the lead would make more sense than stacking LaVine and AR15 to occupy position 2:

I would like to keep D-Lo because I don’t know if AR is aggressive enough to be the point guard for the Lakers. And then, why would Chicago agree to get D-Lo back when they already have plenty of point guards?

So many arguments that should be debated among Angelino fans, attached to their “Hillbilly Kobe” and not certain that the arrival of LaVine would drastically increase their team’s chances of a title. Regardless, the leaders of the Purple & Gold do not seem ready to part with their young full-back, who would even be considered untouchable in the negotiations. Enough to undermine the Arenas scenario.

For Gilbert Arenas, parting ways with Austin Reaves would be the price to pay for the Lakers in order to recruit Zach LaVine. Not sure that the fans of the franchise will share this opinion, they who have always shown great love for the young full-back.
