‘I Am Disappointed’ Celtics Legend Kevin Garnett Acknowledges His Earlier Prediction on Former Warriors Star Didn’t Age Well

Known for his outspokenness and high basketball IQ, NBA legend Kevin Garnett is actively making predictions about all kinds of things that happen in the NBA. As a fifteen-time

In a recent podcast interview, however, the Boston Celtics legend expressed his disappointment over one of his previous predictions which didn’t age well.

Kevin Garnett ON former Warriors star’s current performance

On a recent “SHOWTIME Basketball” podcast episode, 2008 NBA champion Kevin Garnett expresses his disappointment in the former Warriors star, Jordan Poole. He does so after his guest/co-host says, “I got to start off with an apology to you and your fans. Because the last time I was on here, I convinced you to jump in with me into the ‘Jordan Poole’.”

In a previous “SHOWTIME Basketball”, Kevin Garnett had high praise for Jordan Poole after the latter’s preseason game performance against the New York Knicks. However, the current Wizards star has not been consistent with his performance at all after that one game

In a recent episode of the podcast, the co-host asks Kevin Garnett, “Is it like a mindset thing with him?” Kevin Garnett replies, “I am disappointed. So what I was expecting him to come out and look like “Okay I’m out of Golden State. I’m out of this structure”. Man, everything in the NBA is structured, I get it.”

The Celtics legend further explains, “But the two stars that are hands-down, that we know of, Kuzma and Jordan Poole are the Wizards’ main two guys. They’re on the tickets, on the billboards…” He further claims, “I thought Jordan Poole was going to give me a lot more of showmanship. Not arrogance.”

Kevin Garnett then describes how Jordan Poole showed his ‘arrogance’ with his moves against Porzingis in the last game against the Celtics. He had hoped for Jordan Poole to be a little more professional on the court, however, Garnett also acknowledges that the Wizards are young and still have more potential to grow.

Washington Wizards performance so far

With the new NBA season in full swing, the Washington Wizards had a great start to their new season with Jordan Poole ‘going off’ against the New York Knicks in the pre-season game. Jordan Poole’s 41-point game against the Knicks was extremely impressive considering, he did that in just 27 minutes. However, the Wizards have struggled to maintain their winning streak in the regular season.

With almost three weeks gone by in the regular NBA 2023 season, the Wizards have a 2-8 wins-to-loss ratio. Despite Kyle Kuzma’s consistent performances (five 20-point games and one 30-point game), the Wizards need another player like Jordan Poole to step up and seal the victories for the team.
