Giannis Antetokounmpo boasts of Bucks’ “good habits” after beating Blazers despite “adversity”: “It’s…

Following a historical game against the Washington Wizards, the Milwaukee Bucks picked up another special win on Sunday night. The team had a shaky start to the season, losing close games.

Eventually, they managed to hit the right chords and are back on top as the second-seeding team of the Eastern Conference.

Importantly, the Bucks leader, Giannis Antetokounmpo, had a special message for his team after winning the Sunday game against the Portland Trail Blazers.

Stepping into the game, the Bucks star Damian Lillard already had baggage with the Blazers. After an 11-season-long history with the franchise, the star was set to play against them for the first time since the trade drama.

Eventually, it brought out the best in the star, as he helped Giannis to clinch a comfortable win. Let’s find out what message Giannis had for his teammates.

Giannis Antetokounmpo opens up about his team after the Blazers win

Ever since Giannis Antetokounmpo‘s inclusion in the Bucks’ roster, the team has been on top of its game for a long time. In fact, the team managed to win a championship in 2021. In the following years as well, they put up great performances.

Unfortunately, in the last season, the Milwaukee side emerged as the top-seeding team of the Eastern Conference but fell short in the playoffs first round.

Despite the heartbreak, Giannis and his men began their 2023-24 season campaign with high spirits.

However, this time around, they have a new look to the side with the inclusion of Damian Lillard. The star duo has already started producing great numbers in the league.

The team put up a great show to restrict the Rip City with a 108-102 defeat. The franchise spearheads Giannis and Lillard dropped 33 and 31 points, respectively. Notably, the Greek Freak came off steaming hot near the paint, as he recorded 16 rebounds with 6 assists.

Following his game-winning performance, he took to X handle and expressed his pride in donning the Bucks threads.

He wrote, “I’m extremely proud of the group tonight. No matter if we face adversity we can come back and win the game.”

He further continued, “That’s a good habit we are building now.”

On the other hand, Dame D.O.L.L.A had a different mindset playing against his former team.

Lillard’s Portland homecoming

After the win against the Wizards, Lillard took up a few questions from the locker room. One of the reporters asked him about his frame of mind before facing the Blazers on Sunday.

He said, “I don’t see it being that emotional… when we go back to Portland… once I walk in the building… when that happens that’s when… That will kind of bring that up but not here.”

Importantly, he considered facing the Blazers in Portland to be more emotional than facing them in Wisconsin.
