This propelled her to national fame as she cheered on her son. The duo of Dell and Sonya have seen their son propel the Curry name to huge heights, but when they separated, the world around them came crumbling down. Sonya Curry went through hell

Sonya went on to the “Got it From My Momma” podcast and discussed various internal matters. She related her experience of writing her book ‘Fierce Love: A Memoir of Faith, Family, and Purpose’, and how the manuscript development coincided with her separation.

Relating the parallel experience of writing a book and going through a divorce, an emotional Sonya stated, “I didn’t know what my identity would be without marriage. You know, the NBA. I just didn’t know what was gonna come at me, people would wanna hear it, if I wasn’t his wife. I went through hell, emotionally. Right now, what’s next for me? I am learning to be in the moment.”

She continued, ”My faith has deepened so much because things happened that I never would expect to happen. People left my life that I never thought would leave my life. And so it’s like my father. Like, he’s been there here with me this whole time. He has carried me through all this.“

Then the former Virginia Tech Volleyball star talked about her healing process, revealing, “The beautiful thing is, being in the moment, establishing different kinds of relationships with my children, enjoying my children, enjoying the book, as you can tell, I’m still healing through this process. Still allowing myself to heal.”

The former volleyball star has been blessed with many grandchildren.
