YA shows with brothers in their main love triangles are officially on the up. First came The Summer I Turned Pretty, and now My Life With the Walter Boys, which was officially been renewed for a season 2 just days after its premiere.

Based on Ali Novak’s Wattpad novel of the same name, season 1 of My Life With the Walter Boys hit Netflix on December 7, 2023. The show follows the story of Jackie Howard, a 15-year-old Manhattanite whose whole life turns upside down after she loses her parents and sister in an accident. She then has to move to Colorado with her guardian, Dr. Katherine Walter, who was her mother’s best friend at Columbia University.

The first season of My Life With the Walter Boys, which features 10 episodes, immediately skyrocketed in popularity on the streamer and social media. Within days of its premiere, My Life With the Walter Boys claimed the top spot on Netflix’s Global English Top 10 TV List, with over 20 million views and counting. It’s also reached the Top 10 in 88 countries across the world.

Produced by Sony Pictures Television, International Production in tandem with iGeneration Studios (which you might recognize from the Kissing Booth trilogy), it’s safe to say My Life with the Walter Boys is gaining fans left and right. “I am beyond thrilled that My Life With the Walter Boys has been renewed for a second season,” Melanie Halsall, who serves as the series creator, showrunner, and executive producer, told Tudum. “We have been overwhelmed by the love and support that the audience has given the show and can’t wait to dive back into the world of Silver Falls and the lives of these characters.”

Netflix accompanied the season 2 announcement with a sweet video of the cast reaction to the news. The video shows actors Ashby Gentry (Alex Walter on the show), Nikki Rodriguez (Jackie Howard), and Noah LaLonde (Cole Walter) in the middle of a photo session on speakerphone with Halsall, who breaks the news to them. “I just wanted to let you know that we been given the green light for a season two,” Halsall announces, and the main trio immediately go in for a hug.
