Conspiracy again: Meghan’s Princess Diana performance is a hoax that gets HUGE attention days before show hits Netflix

MEGHAN Markle has been keeping fans entertained with her regular updates on Instagram as she gears up for her new show, With Love, Meghan.

Last week, the Duchess of Sussex treated her 2.1 million followers to a video where she recreated Princess Diana’s iconic look.

The mum-of-two was spotted wearing a purple Northwestern sweatshirt – just like the one Prince Harry’s late mother famously wore nearly 30 years ago.

In the clip, Meghan, 43, smiles behind a pair of sunglasses, with sweet moments featuring Harry and their children, Archie and Lilibet, also making an appearance.

The post was captioned: “A small break from work to soak in the weekend sunshine.”

But some royal experts believe the video could be a publicity move to spark conversation just days before her Netflix show is set to premiere on March 4.

Speaking to The Sun’s royal editor, Matt Wilkinson, on The Sun’s Royal Exclusive show, Hello! Magazine’s royal editor, Emily Nash, weighed in on the accusations of Meghan “cosplaying” Diana.

She says: “It’s a tricky one isn’t it, because on the one hand, it has been a huge media moment for her.

“It’s drawn a huge amount of attention, which you might argue the week before her show launch is only a good thing.

“I don’t think it’s that clear cut. She is an alumni of North Western, she might literally just be proud to wear that sweater.”

The purple sweatshirt was a favourite of Princess Diana’s and she was frequently spotted wearing it in public in 1996.

She originally received the jumper as a gift during her 1995 visit to Northwestern’s Evanston campus, where she helped raise funds for the university’s Robert H. Lurie Cancer Center.

Meghan also has ties to Northwestern, having studied there with a double major in theatre and international studies before graduating in 2003.

Her new Netflix cookery show With Love Meghan is set to launch early next month, coinciding with her lifestyle brand As Ever.

Both ventures have seen the duchess go on a social media blitz, posting nine times on her personal Instagram since the start of 2025 – following years of silence.

Meghan has reportedly hit a roadblock when it comes to selling clothing under her brand.

According to The Mail on Sunday, a budget Chinese fashion retailer and a small family-run business in New York both share a similar name, creating legal hurdles for her plans.

Documents filed by Meghan’s legal team at the US Patent and Trademark Office in October 2022 sought approval to sell aprons and other clothing items.

However, by July the following year, the USPTO issued a lengthy 145-page response, partially rejecting the request.

Her brand’s name was deemed too similar to ASEVER, a Chinese fast-fashion company that supplies major UK high street retailers like H&M.

What do we know about Meghan Markle’s new cooking show, With Love, Meghan?

MEGHAN Markle’s new Netflix documentary trailer shows her cooking with Hollywood pals.

The Duchess of Sussex gave fans an insight into her show, With Love, Meghan, which airs soon.

There will be eight 33 minute episodes featuring a host of Meg’s various Hollywood friends trying her simple, yet “elevated”, food.

A montage of various clips in the nearly two-minute video showed Meghan walking through vegetable patches and fields.

She was also filmed browsing florists, hand-selecting beautiful flowers for table arrangements, showing off her creative side.

The Duchess even tried her hand at beekeeping, fully suited up, as she collected honey.

In the exciting new trailer, Meghan shared: “I’ve always loved taking something pretty ordinary and elevating it.

“Surprising people with moments that let them know I was really thinking of them.

“I’m going to share some little tips and tricks. I see what colour I gravitate to, and everything goes from there. And how you incorporate these practices every day.

“This is about connecting with friends… I love that we’re doing this together for the first time. Making new friends… and just learning.

“We’re not in the pursuit of perfection. We’re in the pursuit of joy. I have to get it totally wrong, to get it totally right.”

The trailer showcased many “candid” moments, from Meghan accidentally squeezing some lemon juice in her eye, to knocking freshly baked goodies off a plate.

Prince Harry featured at the end of the video, embracing his wife in a warm hug.
