Hugh Jackman as Wolverine, the pair is near perfect. But the Deadpool 3 ending made fans believe that it can be the end of that saga. But there’s something more.

In terms of perfecting the casting of a Comic Book Movie, most 90s kids will have one answer: Hugh Jackman as Wolverine. For nearly two decades, Jackman embodied the iconic X-Men character with such intensity and charisma that it seemed impossible to imagine anyone else in the role. Can you?

When Logan hit theaters in 2017, fans were convinced it was the end of an era—the final chapter in Jackman’s portrayal of Wolverine. We thought we saw the very end of those shiny adamantium claws. The melancholy tone of the movie emphasized the fact, that fans were saddened.

But then, in a twist as unexpected as any comic book plot, the announcement of Deadpool 3 by Marvel, brought renewed hope. Later the title was confirmed as Deadpool and Wolverine, though there were already so many leaks online, the official announcement brought a breath of fresh air. We all wanted to see Hugh Jackman one more time, we all wanted to ride the nostalgia train.

How did the audience react to  Deadpool and Wolverine?

It was expected to be R-rated again, keeping the theme of the previous Deadpool films. But there was one tiny difference, though the previous Deadpool films are quite comic-centric, this one is a completely fan-pleasing film. From crossing the fourth wall (it has become Deadpool’s identity as of now in MCU) to cracking jokes on Disney, MCU, and even Fox Studios which is somewhat of a bold move from MCU.

Though Ryan Reynolds is the undoubted star of the show, fans have a nostalgic experience with Hugh Jackman as we see multiple versions of him, all equally charismatic and ruthless. But there was a scene that could make anyone whistle for our beloved Wolverine. The shirtless scenes. From the very beginning, the jacked look of Hugh Jackman drew attention, giving birth to the perfect superhero body.

From action scenes to the confrontation, Wolverine and his yellow suit became the talk of the town. But again, just like Logan, the ending of the film hints that this might be the last of Logan as he chooses to be something different. But the story is not over, at least that’s what the fans think.

Hugh Jackman’s second innings with Wolverine might not be over

On Twitter, Hugh Jackman reignited the Kindle of rumors with his recent selfie. With a sweet voice note, Hugh expressed his gratitude towards the fans and some might think that this might just be the end. But how true is that? The selfie shows that High is jacked. Yes …the Wolverine body is still going on.

As per the recent updates, Hugh will be a part of The Death of Robin Hood which might require that perfect body. But that’s uncertain as we might not even see shirtless scenes in the A24 film.

But let’s speculate, if not for The Death Of Robin Hood, then why is he keeping that perfect shape? One reason might be that, we didn’t see the end of Wolverine. As of now, there are no talks about Deadpool 4 but what about team-up movies? A certain team called Avengers will have two movies in 2026-2027. And you know who might be a good fit? The yellow-suit guy with adamantium claws. The new set of Avengers won’t have that experience compared to the old group and a leader who has won wars might be helpful.

We might see more of Wolverine, and Kevin Feige might include him in other Marvel projects and bid him a strong farewell after Secret Wars, it might just be the perfect hanging-the-boots moment for Hugh Jackman.
