One specific line is being called one of the worst from the entire MCU and unfortunately for Anthony Mackie, it is from Falcon and the Winter Soldier.

Hypocrisy can often be inevitable when projects are being made. This is especially true when it comes to the MCU, which is known for having some extremely complicated and confusing plot lines that can span over the years. Anthony Mackie’s The Falcon and the Winter Soldier was beloved for several reasons. The series was quite grounded in comparison to the cosmic threats of Loki and WandaVision.

Despite this, it managed to answer two of the most important questions of the franchise; What will happen to Captain America and the Winter Soldier? Although fans got the answers they wanted and understood the fates of these two characters and titles, this does not mean that the show was a perfect piece of media from Marvel.

There is one distinctive scene from the series in the finale that went against everything that the show tried to establish in the rest of its episodes. Fans have taken note, and they cannot help but call it one of the worst lines from the entire franchise.

Anthony Mackie Did Not Make Much Sense In The Falcon and the Winter Soldier Finale

A fan posted a video on YouTube that showcased a moment in The Falcon and the Winter Soldier that had many scratching their heads. Near the end of the series, after Anthony Mackie had put on his Captain America suit, he confronted those who made the decisions that led to the Flag Smashers being formed. Why they called Karli Morgenthau and her group “terrorists,” Sam Wilson was quick to correct them.

He mentioned that they needed to stop calling Morgenthau’s team terrorists as the things that they were doing were a product of the decision made by those present in Wilson’s company. While many could understand what Mackie’s character was trying to say, the creator of the video could not help but be critical of the meaning behind it.

The actions and crimes committed by Morgenthau’s group could easily be used to describe what terrorism actually is.

Fans Continue To Scratch Their Heads

While some would think only one person could hold such a belief, the comments on the video said otherwise. Many pointed out how Anthony Mackie’s character simply told the senators to do better with their terminology and laws without giving them a way that they could actually bring about change.

Point out that they were also out of their depths with what Thanos did, some fans mentioned how the senators were also trying their best to do the right thing.

“Wanda: enslaves an entire town full of people including kids. MCU: she’s misunderstood Karli: uses violence against innocents to carry out her political plans ( literal definition of terrorism) MCU: she’s not a terrorist Walker: killed a terrorist who participated in murder of his best friend. MCU: he’s a bad guy.” mentioned sanalk1444 on YouTube.

““You gotta stop calling them terrorists.” LITERALLY MEETS THE LEGAL DEFINITION OF TERRORISM” added JONPIAASU98.

“Karli was easily the worst MCU villain ever.” stevetrail2307 stated.

“Sam: You gotta do better, senator. Senator: How do we do better? Sam: idk do better.” said Bully_who_made_goblin_Jr_cry.

What’s worse is that the show actually did a pretty decent job at presenting how they’d started as genuine activists but strayed into terrorism, but not acknowledging that they became terrorists who caused destruction is what ruined it.” added HUMAN-fq5ff.

Others pointed out that hypocrisy is Marvel’s definition of right and wrong. They think that calling Wanda Maximoff and Karli Morgenthau “misunderstood” and then portraying John Walker as the bad guy does not show any consistency. Since Karli was involved in killing innocents for the sake of “sending a message,” fans believe her actions to be the textbook definition of terrorism.

With this in mind, Wilson’s line simply feels off to fans. Additionally, the bland motivations made many label Karlie one of the worst villains from the MCU.
