Marvel Bringing Back One Avenger to Face-off Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine Could Easily Eclipse the Upcoming ‘Deadpool and Wolverine’ Mashup

Hugh Jackman going against Captain America can be one of the greatest moments in the MCU if made well.

The solo MCU release of 2024 Deadpool & Wolverine will bring Hugh Jackman’s mutant to Kevin Feige’s universe. Since Fox was acquired by Disney, Marvel fans ardently waited for Wolverine to step into the MCU and be a part of the greater universe.

While the fans expect a grand event like Hulk vs Wolverine in a future project like Avengers: Secret Wars, the MCU may also try numerous other cool stuff with the character. Marvel Comics shows that if the character is pitched against Captain America, we may get a bloodier event than Deadpool 3.

Wolverine’s introduction in the Deadpool threequel will also bring the famous Marvel alloy Adamantium to the MCU. The potential face-off with Captain America can also get the fans a much-awaited battle between Adamantium and Vibranium to determine which is stronger.

A live-action battle between Wolverine’s claws and Captain America’s shield can break records

Captain America went against Wolverine often in the comics

One of the major misses in the Marvel Cinematic Universe was the team of X-Men. The mutants could not appear in the Avengers’ cinematic universe for a long time as their rights were with Fox. But, as Marvel fans are now well-prepared to see Logan in the MCU, a bloody face-off between the Adamantium claws and the Star-spangled Vibranium shield can be expected.

According to a new video by @ComicsUnlocked, Captain America’s shield is made of steel alloys and Vibranium. When scientist Myron MacLain tried to duplicate the process, he created the metal Adamantium. While the history of these metals is different in the movies, Wolverine’s adamantium claws are shown to be strong enough to hold nuclear blasts and cut through anything.

The YouTuber claimed that even though Adamantium is an indestructible metal, it is not as strong as Vibranium. This can be also understood if the Fox universe films are closely observed. The Adamantium claws look more dreadful but Vibranium’s prolonged durability gives it an upper hand. On top of it, Adamantium is also weak to excess heat.

In the comics, Captain America’s shield went against Logan’s claws several times. Although Cap could never throw the shield with a force enough to slice Wolverine’s claws, their encounters were as bloody as they could be. If something like that is brought to live-action, it can deliver some peak MCU content.

How can Marvel pull off such a live-action feat?

Captain America 4 will reportedly introduce Adamantium

Reportedly, Hugh Jackman‘s Wolverine is not coming to the MCU for a limited time. If the rumors are to be believed then he will stick in the Multiverse Saga till Secret Wars. The conclusion to the latest Saga may give us a new and the main Wolverine for our new universe.

Kevin Feige’s MCU is widely known for fulfilling the demands of the fans. They can create a money shot if we get to see Captain America going against Logan at some point. This feat has been pulled off numerous times in the comics with Captain America Annual #8Wolverine Origins #4, and Wolverine: Origins #20.

Co-incidentally, new rumors suggest that Adamantium will be introduced into the MCU in the upcoming Captain America: Brave New World. Although we lost our OG Steve Rogers, MCU may plan a conflict between Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine and Sam Wilson.

We know that the Avenger and the mutant will have to join forces at some point but such a battle may give us an event that can even overshadow Deadpool & Wolverine‘s hype. Moreover, with the recent slump in MCU’s quality, it will need some cool moments and plot points to bring back the fans who were bored of projects like The Marvels.

Deadpool & Wolverine will be released on July 26, 2024, while Captain America: Brave New World will be released on February 14, 2025.
