The rumors regarding Deadpool & Wolverine have significantly elevated the hype for this year’s upcoming and only MCU film. We have witnessed some of the craziest rumors regarding the first R-rated MCU flick. Continuing the trend, the latest rumors suggest that Deadpool 3 may see the return of Wesley Snipes’ Blade and Chris Evans’ Human Torch in the MCU in an innovative manner.

Deadpool 3 is expected to have some big cameos

MCU’s foray into the multiversal genre has enabled us to have several versions of any character. Spider-Man: No Way Home and Loki have tried hard to explain this concept to us. Although we don’t have many updates about MCU’s upcoming Blade and Fantastic Four films, Deadpool 3 is expected to give us alternate versions of Blade and Human Torch as members of the ‘Resistance’.

How can the MCU bring back Wesley Snipes’ Blade with Deadpool & Wolverine?

Fans can't imagine how Wesley Snipes and Ryan Reynolds will collaborate together after Blade: Trinity

Deadpool & Wolverine‘s promotional materials have confirmed that a large chunk of the film will take place in the Void, with the two mutants going against Emma Corrin’s Cassandra Nova. However, new rumors by The GeekyCast hint that we may get another group of superheroes in the Void who will team up against the twin sister of Charles Xavier.

While the MCU is still wandering in the dark with their upcoming Blade film with Mahershala Ali, the OG Wesley Snipes is slated to return in Deadpool 3. Snipes is rumored to team up with Chris Evans‘ Human Torch (from 2005 and 2007’s Fantastic Four films), Jennifer Garner’s Elektra, Dafne Keen’s X23, and Channing Tatum’s Gambit.

Besides Blade, the MCU is also developing a Fantastic Four film, where Joseph Quinn is expected to appear as Human Torch. With the concept of Variants in the current Marvel Cinematic Universe, their cameo would not even ruin the future canon appearances of the respective superheroes.

Deadpool & Wolverine is planned as a major project before Avengers: Secret Wars. A small-scale team-up in the film can work brilliantly if the rumors are true. But it will be hoped that the film does not go on the Doctor Strange 2 route and gives adequate respect and time to the special appearances (we are still not over the ‘Smartest Man in the World’ mess).

Wesley Snipes is expected to get a decent role in Deadpool 3

Wesley Snipes may get a big role in Deadpool 3

Ardent superhero enthusiasts know that Green Lantern and X-Men Origins: Wolverine were not the only disappointments faced by Ryan Reynolds in the genre before Deadpool. Reynolds had a very bitter experience alongside Wesley Snipes in Blade: Trinity.

Often hailed as the worst in the trilogy, Blade: Trinity was plagued with production troubles due to Wesley Snipes’ allegedly problematic behavior. Reportedly, he called his co-star Ryan Reynolds a “cracker” multiple times on set (via eFilmCritic). Nonetheless, it looks like the stars have made amends as the Demolition Man actor may appear in a role, bigger than a cameo.

Trusted scooper Daniel Richtman aka Daniel RPK reported on Patreon (via Cosmic Marvel) that Blade will be a supporting character in the upcoming movie.

Even though they are just rumors and are not made official by any sources, Karan Soni has also commented earlier that Deadpool 3 is filled with surprises. Most of the other X-Men stars from the 20th Century Fox films are also expected to reprise their roles in the Shawn Levy directorial.

Deadpool & Wolverine will hit the theaters on July 26, 2024.
