Eminem’s daughter Hailie Jade has spoken out about what it’s like being related to the music star
Eminem’s daughter has revealed what bothers her most about being related to him and growing up in the spotlight.
Hailie Jade is the only biological daughter of the ‘Lose Yourself’ hitmaker and has been mentioned in dozens of the rapper’s songs.
One of his most recent tracks about Hailie is on Eminem’s new album, The Death of Slim Shady (Coup De Grâce).
The song titled ‘Temporary’ has left music fans in tears as it’s dedicated to his 28-year-old daughter for when he eventually dies.
“The truth is, I think what scares me the most is not being able to say all the things I wanna say to you when I’m no longer here,” Eminem says in the tear-jerking song. “So, this song is for Hailie, for when that day comes.”
It’s evident that the father-daughter duo have a very sweet bond, but Hailie admitted that there are downsides to being Eminem’s daughter.
In a Q&A on her Just a Little Shady podcast, Hailie was asked if it bothers her when she’s questioned about her global superstar father.

“The best way to say this is yes and no,” she replied. “It’s to a point. I obviously expect it and there are certain things I can understand why people are just genuinely curious about as anyone would be when you’ve grown up half in the spotlight.”
Hailie went on: “Once it gets past that point though I’m like ‘I’m a person too, I think I have more to offer than just my dad’. So it becomes tricky, I get it.”
“I feel like growing up when it would happen I would get more bothered by it because I was like ‘why do people care’,” she added.
As well as Hailie, Eminem has two adopted kids – Alaina and Stevie.
Born in 1993, Alaina was the child of Kim Scott’s twin sister Dawn, but legal guardianship was given to Eminem and Kim due to his sister-in-law’s inability to look after her.
Meanwhile Stevie – who is genderfluid – is the biological child of Kim and her then-boyfriend, Eric Hartter, but Eminem legally adopted them in 2005.
All of his children appear in the music video for the rapper’s new song ‘Houdini’.
He jokingly refers to his kids as ‘brats’ as the three of them are seen on FaceTime to him looking offended.
However, if anyone’s heard Eminem’s music before they’ll know that this is far from the worst thing he’s said over the course of his decades-long career.
