Giving a health update, Kate Middleton said she was ‘not out of the woods yet’ but her treatment, which she will need for a few more months, is going well.
Piers Morgan has led the tributes to Princess Kate after she revealed she is “not out of the woods yet” following her cancer diagnosis.
The Princess of Wales confirmed she would return to royal life this weekend as she gave an emotional and honest update on her health. Though her chemotherapy is ‘going well”, she will still need another few months of treatment. Alongside a new photo, showing her standing in a woodland area wearing jeans and a chic blazer, the 42-year-old future queen said in a post on social media she has been “blown away” by all the kind messages of support she had received.
The statement read: “I have been blown away by all the kind messages of support and encouragement over the last couple of months. It really has made the world of difference to William and me and has helped us both through some of the harder times.
Kate continued: “My treatment is ongoing and will be for a few more months. On the days I feel well enough, it is a joy to engage with school life, spend personal time on the things that give me energy and positivity, as well as starting to do a little work from home.
“I’m looking forward to attending The King’s Birthday Parade this weekend with my family and hope to join a few public engagements over the summer, but equally knowing I am not out of the woods yet. I am learning how to be patient, especially with uncertainty. Taking each day as it comes, listening to my body, and allowing myself to take this much needed time to heal. “Thank you so much for your continued understanding, and to all of you who have so bravely shared your stories with me.”
Fans and famous faces were quick to congratulate Kate on her recovery with broadcaster Piers Morgan among the first to say: “Welcome back, Your Royal Highness.” TV presenter Gaby Roslin wrote: “Taking each day as it comes is a great way to be. Sending love and strength.” Interior designer to the stars Kelly Hoppen wrote: “You are incredibly brave.” While former Made In Chelsea star Hugo Taylor posted: “Sending strength for your recovery. Thank you for all you do.”
