Months after Filipino singer Sofronio Vasquez emerged triumphant on The Voice USA, another Filipino is trying their chance in the competition.
Jessica Manalo, a Filipino based in Las Vegas, performed Sam Smith’s “Unholy” in the blind auditions of the The Voice USA’s 27th season.
In a sneak peek uploaded by NBC online, two coaches turned for Manalo — Michael Bublé and Kelsea Ballerini.
Manalo recalled her journey on her Instagram account, saying: “The last 24 hours have been overwhelming. My heart is full and I am in shock from the love and support from so many near and far.”
“My episode has not officially aired and NBC The Voice [featured a] sneak peek [of] my blind audition for all to see! But who do I choose? You’ll have to see for yourself,” she said in an Instagram post.
Jessica reposted some of the well-wishes and congratulatory posts she has received since the sneak peek audition was uploaded online. In addition, she wrote “Yes, I am Filipina” together with the Philippine flag emoji in her Instagram account.
