Dave Bautista has set the record straight when it comes to reuniting with his Guardians of the Galaxy cast mates.

Dave Bautista is one of the gems of the MCU that fans hope to see more of in the future. Bautista has essayed the role of the Drax to perfection, getting his well-deserved ending in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3. While there is a lot of hubbub about seeing the Guardians again, Bautista has made it clear what it would take for him to work with his beloved cast mates again.

While the actor has already worked with his co-stars Karen Gillan and Pom Klementieff, he is keen on working with Chris Pratt and Zoe Saldaña again. However, the actor has placed one condition on the reunion: it has to be outside the Marvel Universe.

Dave Bautista would love to work with the Guardians cast in the DCU

Dave Bautista is very keen on working with the Guardians of the Galaxy cast, but however, his one condition is that he works with them outside the Marvel Universe. Speaking with Comic Book Movies, he said:

That’s kind of my goal. I really want, because I’ve done another project outside of Guardians with Karen Gillan, and I’ve done work with Pom now. I would like to work with Chris and Zoe outside of the Marvel Universe, as well.

Bautista has a very clear idea of how he wants to grow his acting career, something that has been largely absent in other athletes-turned-actors. While the actor has not been cast in the DCU, it is not beyond the realm of possibility that Bautista and James Gunn‘s other friends get cast in the DCU. Chris Pratt has already been visiting the set of Superman, which has begun speculation about how these actors might factor into the MCU.

Who could Dave Bautista play in the DC Universe?

There are a slew of characters that Dave Bautista could play in the DCU. From Bane to Atrocitus, the actor would fit a slew of beefy roles in James Gunn’s iteration of the universe.

These spaces would allow the actor to cross paths with Guardians of the Galaxy compatriots, as there will be plenty of space to cast these actors in the franchise, such that they interact with Dave Bautista. James Gunn has yet to fill a lot of gaps in the DCU, focusing solely on Superman for now. His universe already has a lot of superheroes in its ranks, in stark contrast to how the MCU started out.

Superman hits theatres on July 11, 2025.
