Megan Thee Stallion Lawyer Calls Out Tory Lanez Case Misinformation, Suggests Legal Action Over ‘Nonsense Bloggers’

Misinformation is once again making the rounds in connection with Tory Lanez ’s Megan Thee Stallion shooting case.

Over the weekend, you may have seen chatter on social media purporting that Lanez, who was found guilty in 2022 and later sentenced to 10 years behind bars , had suddenly been declared “innocent” in the case. This, as was swiftly pointed out by legal experts, is simply not true.

In response to the circulation of these claims, Complex got in touch with Alex Spiro, an attorney for Megan Thee Stallion, who pointed out that any such talk of Lanez being “declared innocent” is indeed not true despite recent social media posts purporting otherwise.

“His declaration of innocence is completely false,” Spiro told Complex in a phone conversation on Monday. Furthermore, per Spiro, Lanez is “spinning his wheels” while behind bars.

“He can continue spinning his wheels and spinning up these nonsense bloggers from jail all he wants but it’s not going to go anywhere,” he said.

Spiro also teased potential legal action in response to the circulation of “garbage” on social media.

“Misinformation isn’t gonna be an issue in the court of law where he was convicted and remains convicted and incarcerated,” he said. “The fact that he has nonsense bloggers continuing to spin up garbage, we’re going to take legal action.”

Elsewhere, Spiro called the latest round of misinformation “nonsense” and reiterated plans to respond with legal action.

“Misinformation can be everywhere but anybody reasonable and conscientious sees this nonsense for what it is,” Spiro said. “Given the fact that they insist on continuing, we’re going to take legal action.”

As for the appeal itself, Spiro says it’s “dead on arrival.”
