American Taylor Swift Fans Face Backlash at Lisbon Concert for Complaints About ‘Rough Treatment’: ‘We’re Supposed to Be VIP!’

An American Taylor Swift fan and her friends have been slammed online for their behavior at a Lisbon concert after moaning about being ‘pushed around.’

In a video posted to X, TikToker Jenny Berger, complained that she and her friends paid a ‘sh** ton’ for their VIP tickets just to be ‘pushed around’ by fans who bought  general admission.

In the clip, Berger showed her view from the floor level at the Estádio da Luz stadium in Portugal as she held a drink in her hand and said that the fans around her ‘are not VIP.’

The Blank Space hitmaker, 34, kicked off the European leg of her Eras Tour on May 9 in Paris before heading to Portugal this past weekend.

Berger has since deleted her video after she said she was ‘dragged on Twitter‘ for being the ‘international Swifie’s public enemy number one.’

The video of her complaining starts with Berger, dressed in a hot pink shirt with matching pink glitter on her face and hair, standing in the stadium with her friends.

‘Update – we’re pretty pissed. Again, VIP one, and we paid a sh** ton for our ticket and general admin is pushing us around,’ Berger said.

‘They’re all around us, getting to the front and pushing us back. We’re trying to be aggressive, but like, I’m sorry, I did not expect this and I paid way to much.

‘Why are we not roped off? I just don’t get it,’ she added.

Berger then shows a clip of her view of the stage as a large group of fans stand in front of her and her friends.

The camera then shows the frustrated Swifie as her friend, dressed in black with rhinestones around her eye, says: ‘There’s no Nashville magic here.’

Berger shakes her head and turns the camera to the people behind her as she says: ‘They’re not VIP, they are not VIP. They paid $300 less for their ticket and they’re walking in front of us.’

In another video that has also been deleted, Berger showed herself sitting on the ground with her friends as she called the experience ‘chaos.’

‘We got her at 2:15 thinking like we have a roped off section or whatever, no, we were like midway through “VIP one”, you’re gonna have to stand in a long line, you’re gonna be standing in the sun, get there early, get in,’ Berger said.

She then called general admission fans ‘vultures’ who were trying to ‘get in their space.’

‘Thankfully, we’re not having it. But, if you’re ‘VIP one”, don’t think that makes you too special,’ she added, admitting that her and her friends had ‘decent spots.’

Viewers were quick to bash the complaining fan on social media as one said: ‘Has she never gone to a general admission show? I’m American and I’ve both queued for hours to be at the front and shown up at doors planning to be in the back.’

Another said: ‘The audacity they have to go to countries in like Europe and Asia where Taylor never went (while they have more than 50 dates) and on top of that complain and criticize.

‘I’m hating them so much… They’re everywhere, they’re rude, they think they’re the only ones in the world and on top of that they won’t keep quiet,’ a commenter wrote.

‘My friends and I tried to get Eras Tour tickets in the United States, could not get Eras Tour tickets in the United States, so we got some in Portugal,’ Berger explained.

The Swiftie added that because she got her ticket before her friends, she emailed customer service to ask if the VIP section was ‘going to be seated like America or be like general admission type tickets.’

She said that customer service told her that it would be general admission, but she had to have VIP one tickets to get into the standing floor area for the concert.

‘So I was very much under the impression that this was going to a roped off area,’ Berger said.

Once she got there she said that when general admission ticket holders were let into the area, they started to stand in front of her.

‘Everybody around me was like really unhappy about that, myself included.

‘This is one thing that makes me so sad, because at this point it’s taken like it’s me against Portuguese people, that I’m accusing of being some sort of way, when really in my mind, like everyone around me is international, myself included,’ Berger said.

‘So, at no point was I trying to call out one specific type of person, but I think it’s really taken off like that on the internet, and just know that was never my intention in my heart.’

She ended the video by admitting that she was ‘sassy’ and ‘rude’ and that she ‘understands’ that she has been looked at as an ‘entitled American.’

‘I can promise you that I will think about being in a foreign country and how I talk to those people in their space, and how my speech comes across to them.’

‘I will be more thoughtful – my speech can run away from me sometimes,’ Berger said.

On Friday, the same day that Berger attended the concert, the event descended into chaos as furious fans tore down a fence after waiting for hours in the blistering heat.

Eager fans were left waiting outside for 45 minutes to enter the stadium as one fan who traveled to the Estádio da Luz stadium to see Taylor said: ‘I’m just sad, I’ve spent thousands and thousands of dollars to see Taylor. Please. I just want to be inside.’

Another fan who lives in Amsterdam and came to the concert with three of her friends claimed they waited in line for an hour and a half before getting sent outside.

Temperatures in the stadium were also very high at 66 degrees when Taylor finally took to the stage at 8pm

It was reported that 200 fans broke through security gates and forced their way into the stadium, terrifying the security staff.

Before the concert, massive queues of fans were seen starting to form outside the arena due to the delay as frustrated people proceeded to yell at staff: ‘Let us in!’

Gates were due to open to those with standard tickets at 4pm, however, it was reported that the fans weren’t allowed in until 4.45pm.

Temperatures in the stadium were also very high at 66 degrees when Taylor finally took to the stage at 8pm.

Before the concert, security had a strict rule of no water bottles being allowed into the arena.
