Piers Morgan’s brutal one word criticism of Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s upcoming ‘tour’

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are set to embark on a four-day tour of Colombia this summer, but the news was met with a mixed reaction from Royal watchers, including Piers Morgan

Outspoken media heavyweight Piers Morgan has launched another tirade at Prince Harry and Meghan Markle as they get set to jet off on a new South American adventure in Colombia this summer, with an invitation from Vice President Francia Marquez.

The Sussexes’ upcoming trip, which includes stops in Bogota and the Pacific regions such as Cartagena and Cali, has drawn mixed reactions, with some commentators deeming it a quasi-royal tour. And not least from TV personality Piers Morgan, who was less than impressed by their tour.

Writing in his newspaper column, Mr Morgan expressed his bemusement with a biting critique. He recollected his “all-time favourite theatre review was about a play called: Why?”.

He writes that “the critic wrote one word: ‘Exactly’.” And it was this that he thought of when he heard the royal pair were to embark on a four-day tour of Colombia this Thursday.

Comparing their Colombia plans to a review about a play called ‘Why?’, in which the reviewer scathingly wrote ‘Exactly,’ Piers wrote for the Sun: “My all-time favourite theatre review was about a play called: Why?The critic wrote one word: ‘Exactly.’ I thought of this when I heard that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex will embark on a four-day tour of Colombia this Thursday.”

This memory reportedly sprang to Morgan’s mind upon learning about the couple’s four-day Colombian venture commencing Thursday.

Expanding his scathing assessment, Morgan noted, “Meghan and Harry aren’t real royals these days.

“They don’t do any actual duties for the institution which conferred their titles on them — they just line their pockets with cash in America by constantly trashing their families, and the monarchy, in the media.

“So, what gives them the right to prance around the world pretending to be proper royals, on quasi-official visits?”

Mr Morgan landed with a scathing critique on the “laughable hypocrisy” of the Royal couple for jetting off to “one of the world’s most dangerous places”, in light of Prince Harry’s legal tussle with the UK Government about his security arrangements while in Britain.

Weight was added to his argument as he highlighted that Colombia’s government is mired in scandals since taking office.

He aired his frustration, stating: “But what I’m most annoyed about is the Sussexes’ delusion that they can somehow operate as a rival royal family on the global stage, enjoying all the benefits from that regal status but without any need to fulfil their obligations to their King and country. They should be stopped.”
