Netflix has released the trailer for the second season of XO, Kitty, which sees Peter Kavinsky make a surprise appearance in Seoul as Kitty Song Covey navigates her love life

Netflix has dropped the trailer for the second season of XO, Kitty, which is set to hit the streaming giant in the new year.

The show is a spin-off from Netflix’s popular To All The Boys franchise and focuses on Kitty Song Covey, Lara Jean’s sister. In the debut season, Kitty moves to Seoul, Korea, to be with her long-distance boyfriend Dae and attends the same high school her late mother did.

However, she finds herself grappling with her love life as she develops feelings for the popular Yuri towards the end of the series. Anna Cathcart, who plays Kitty, said the show is “really about Kitty learning that love can look a lot of different ways and that it’s not something that you necessarily can figure out super easily.”

After the first series ended with Kitty seeing Yuri with his new girlfriend, the trailer for the second season shows that despite her lingering feelings for Yuri, Kitty is ready to navigate the dating world and “finally discover who my mum really was,” according to the Manchester Evening News. In an unexpected twist, Peter Kavinsky from To All The Boys makes a surprise appearance in Seoul to see Kitty.

In the trailer, Peter tells Kitty: “You are Kitty Song freakin’ Covey. Don’t you forget it” before giving her a hug. One fan shared their excitement on X (formerly known as Twitter), writing: “PETER KAVINSKY? Lord thank you for almost bringing my family back together now all we need is Lara Jean.”, reports Surrey Live.

Fans are buzzing with excitement over the latest developments in their favorite romance show, with one fan gushing: “PETER KAVINSKY? ! had me giggling, kicking my feet,” while another was so thrilled they exclaimed: “I JUST FELL TO MY KNEES OMFG” and yet another simply stated: “Sobbing.”

The debate is already on fire among viewers about which couple they’re rooting for, with tweets flying in like “Team Minho”, “We will be seated for them”, and “Minho and Kitty endgame when! ! ! ” Meanwhile, some fans are all in for a Kitty and Yuri romance, with one shouting: “‘I’m not over Yuri’ I SCREAMED” and another backing it up with: “Kittyuri endgame.”

Since its first season, the show has held viewers captive, drawing comparisons to other Netflix hits. An IMDB reviewer raved: “It’s sweet, it’s popcorn TV which we all expected – I have enjoyed the binge and would recommend for anyone who is after some light hearted watching.”

They also noted: “[On] Netflix it rivals Emily in Paris without the scenery or fashion.”

Showrunner Jessica O’Toole, known for her work on Charmed, opened up about Noah Centineo’s comeback as Peter Kavinsky: “It was amazing to watch Anna and Noah together on set; they have so much love and respect for each other and you can feel it in their scenes together. This season of ‘XO, Kitty’ is about where Kitty is heading but also acknowledges her past.”

She expressed her thrill at having Peter back, saying it’s “so exciting” to see how he’ll blend with the cherished ‘XO, Kitty’ cast.

She teased that the upcoming season has a lot in store, including “some big moments fans have been waiting for and others they will never see coming.”
