Ryan Reynolds Seems Prepared to Make Fans Both Laugh And Cry in Deadpool & Wolverine

The frenzied hype surrounding the forthcoming adventures of the sardonic mercenary and the man with Adamantium claws is swelling with each passing day as Deadpool & Wolverine inches closer to its premiere.

But if fans knew the appalling condition of Ryan Reynolds’ disfigured superhero in the new installment, they might just have to carry tissues along with the popcorn in cinemas.

Ryan Reynolds Hits Rock Bottom in Deadpool & Wolverine

It’s been barely one whole day since the upcoming MCU film wrapped up post-production and the director already has an exciting (and also a bit sad) update for fans.

In a fresh interview with Total Film, Shawn Levy talked about introducing Ryan Reynolds‘ Deadpool into the MCU universe and also divulged the much-anticipated timeline of Deadpool & Wolverine. But that’s not all the 55-year-old filmmaker unearthed.

While the new superhero outing starring Reynolds and Hugh Jackman will take place six years after Deadpool 2, Wade Wilson is going to be in a much worse shape than fans would’ve expected. Uh-oh.

He’s proving to be useless at selling cars, hawking Blind Al’s blood-pressure meds to make rent, and his beloved Vanessa has a new boyfriend.

If only Deadpool could sneak a glance at the hellish future that awaits him. As sad as it sounds, however, Reynolds’ character, with his cynical wit and inimitable humor, is someone who thrives under adversity. So, there’s no doubt that Wade will turn the cards around sooner or later. But fans should be ready with tissues, just in case.

The One Boundary That Deadpool & Wolverine Didn’t Cross 

Deadpool & Wolverine – which is projected to break box office records – is the first ever R-rated MCU film in the studio’s history. But there are some lines even the Merc With a Mouth won’t tramp over in the Phase Five tentpole, and drug use is one of them.

In the new issue of Total Film (via Games Radar), Levy, who has collaborated with both Reynolds and Jackman previously, revealed that “overt drug use” was the one thing off-limits and MCU boss Kevin Feige had already conveyed the same from the get-go.

“I’m so wary of what I can say but certainly there were early conversations about overt drug use,” the Free Guy director admitted. “And we thought that was an interesting conversation. Let’s actually write a dialogue scene about having had it.”

The line in question refers to the comment that Deadpool makes to Leslie Uggam’s Blind Al in one of the trailers when she offers him some “Bolivian marching powder” which is code of cocaine. So, we know where Wade draws the boundary.
