Trump trolls Taylor Swift after singer is ‘booed’ at Super Bowl 2025

By Caitlin McCormack

President Trump trolled pop superstar Taylor Swift on social media Sunday night — reveling in the boos the singer and girlfriend of Kansas City Chiefs’ Travis Kelce received from Philadelphia Eagles fans at Super Bowl LIX.

“The only one that had a tougher night than the Kansas City Chiefs was Taylor Swift. She got BOOED out of the Stadium. MAGA is very unforgiving!” Trump wrote on Truth Social.

Both Trump and Swift were in the stands of the Caesars Superdome in New Orleans to cheer for the Chiefs ahead of their blowout 22-40 loss to the Eagles.

Jalen Hurts totally outclasses Patrick Mahomes with Super Bowl 2025 gem

By Paul Schwartz

NEW ORLEANS — Here is the beauty of having a complete team: No one player has to do everything every game.

That is the way it went down Sunday night for Jalen Hurts and the Eagles.

He did not get off to the greatest of starts and that can be troublesome when the opposing quarterback is Patrick Mahomes.

Sports+: The Eagles left no room for doubt with Super Bowl 2025 obliteration

This was the kind of game you dream about as a sports fan if you have a dog — or a bird — in the hunt. Rare are the days when you get to do little other than savor and celebrate, rarer still when the inner demons of cynicism don’t take over for stretches at a time.

If you are a sports fan, you are a worrier.

Eagles recreated rare blueprint to pummel Patrick Mahomes, win Super Bowl 2025

By Ryan Dunleavy

NEW ORLEANS — OK, now there is a definite blueprint for how to beat the Chiefs in a Super Bowl.

Four years after the Buccaneers’ defensive line obliterated the Chiefs’ offensive line to prevent Kansas City from winning a second straight Lombardi Trophy, the Eagles’ pass rush did the same thing Sunday and turned Patrick Mahomes into a pumpkin.

The Chiefs allowed their superhuman quarterback to take nine hits and be sacked five times in the first three quarters alone, and a rattled Mahomes responded by throwing two critical interceptions in the decisive first half of what became a 40-22 loss to the Eagles in Super Bowl 2025.

Kendrick Lamar performed Drake diss track ‘Not Like Us’ at Super Bowl 2025 halftime show — with one big change

By Sean Mandell

All eyes were on him.

Kendrick Lamar brought his Drake diss track “Not Like Us” to the 2025 Super Bowl halftime show, but made one big and telling change to the song’s lyrics.

Taking the field at the Caesars Superdome in New Orleans on Sunday, Lamar, 37, elated fans when he performed the song that has come to define his feud with Drizzy, 38, during the show.

The Pulitzer Prize-winning rapper teased the song throughout the performance, saving it for the end of his time on the field.

“I want to play their favorite song, but you know they love to sue,” K-Dot spat at one point, undoubtedly alluding to Drake’s legal actions against their shared record label, Universal Music Group.

When Lamar finally performed a portion of “Not Like Us,” which accuses his Canadian rival of being a pedophile, he altered the lyrics by removing the word ‘pedophile.’”

Instead of spitting “Certified Lover Boy? Certified pedophiles,” Lamar went silent at the part where he would normally rap “pedophile.”

Worst Super Bowl ever?

By Ryan Dunleavy

It’s been a while, but longtime NFL fans might remember that the Super Bowl used to be a blowout quite often.

That said, is Super Bowl 2025 the worst Super Bowl ever?

Let the debate begin.

The other contenders will be the 49ers’ 55-10 win against the Broncos in Super Bowl 24, the Bears’ 46-10 win against the Patriots in Super Bowl 20, the Cowboys’ 52-17 win against the Bills in Super Bowl 27 and the Seahawks’ 43-8 win against the Broncos in Super Bowl 43 at MetLife Stadium.

Yeah, the 1980s and early 90s produced a lot of ugly games.

But this game was never particularly competitive — and the Chiefs were favored!

Dagger delivered

Anyone who was doing the math on a potential comeback — the Chiefs can still win with four unanswered touchdowns, right? — can forget it.

Not satisfied with a 27-point lead, the Eagles put what Fox announcer Kevin Burkhardt called the “dagger” in the Chiefs when Jalen Hurts threw a 46-yard touchdown pass to DeVonta Smith on the first play of a drive.

If you thought that the Eagles might start trying to run out the clock, forget it. Head coach Nick Sirianni and pass-happy offensive coordinator Kellen Moore went for the jugular and threw deep while the Chiefs were still licking their wounds after a turnover on downs.

If you are thinking that a 34-0 deficit can be wiped out with five straight touchdowns, you are too optimistic.

Travis Kelce makes first catch

By Andrew Battifarano

With 3:32 left in the third quarter, Kelce finally has his first catch — an 8-yard gain.

But the Chiefs fail to convert a fourth down on the next play as Patrick Mahomes nearly threw another pick. Nothing good happening for the Chiefs in this one.

Saquon Barkley sets second record

By Ryan Dunleavy

Saquon Barkley times two.

After he set the NFL’s single-season record (playoffs included) for yards from scrimmage on the first play of Super Bowl 2025, Barkley claimed the record for most rushing yards early in the third quarter.

Barkley eclipsed the 26-year-old marks set by Terrell Davis during the Broncos’ 1998 Super Bowl-winning campaign. Davis had 2,762 yards from scrimmage and 2,476 rushing yards.

It’s just the cherry on top of an incredible first season since moving from the Giants to the Eagles for Barkley, who was named the NFL’s Offensive Player of the Year.

It’s been an uncharacteristically quiet night overall for Barkley (17 carries for 46 yards with 5:18 remaining in the third quarter) but he’ll gladly trade his production for a 27-0 lead.

Kendrick Lamar’s star-studded Super Bowl Halftime Show sparks mixed reactions

By Kendall Luther

Kendrick Lamar’s Super Bowl Halftime Show was one for the history books, featuring special appearances from SZA, Samuel L. Jackson and Serena Williams — but not everyone was impressed.

While some users on X are calling it the “worst” halftime show they’ve ever seen, others are praising Lamar and his performance.

One thing is certain: everyone wants to see Drake’s reaction to the performance of “Not Like Us,” Lamar’s Grammy-winning diss track.

Michael Strahan waving Eagles flag infuriates Giants fans: ‘Went too far’

By Joseph Staszewski

Michael Strahan unintentionally added a little salt into the wounds of Giants fans – and they let him know about it.

Many Big Blue faithful were left outraged as one of their franchise icons waved an Eagles flag and said “Fly Eagles, Fly” during an interview with Philadelphia running back Saquon Barkley during the “NFL on Fox” Super Bowl 2025 pregame show on Sunday.

“But he is such a special man, c’mon, we’ll got ‘Fly Eagles, Fly’ for Saquon Barkley because I respect and love this man so much,” Strahan said as he waved the flag on a riverboat in New Orleans.

Some halftime history

By Ryan Dunleavy

The biggest halftime deficit overcome was 18 points, by the Patriots against the Falcons in Super Bowl 2017.

The world was just reminded of that comeback this weekend when Bill Belichick’s girlfriend, Jordan Hudson, mockingly wore a Falcons’ Super Bowl champions shirt around New Orleans.

The Patriots actually trailed by as many as 25 points in the game, 28-3, before rallying to win in overtime.

The Chiefs’ 24-0 deficit was tied for the second-largest Super Bowl deficit in history.

The 49ers led the Broncos by 24 points at the half in the 1990 Super Bowl.

The only bigger lead? Washington led the Broncos, 35-10, in the 1988 Super Bowl and went on to win a 42-10 victory.

Serena Williams — Drake’s ex — makes surprise appearance at Kendrick Lamar’s Super Bowl Halftime Show

By Kaydi Pelletier

Disses on disses.

Tennis champ Serena Williams made a surprise appearance during Kendrick Lamar’s Super Bowl halftime show, stunning not just with her moves but also for the fact that she once dated Lamar’s nemesis, Drake.

The 32-time Grand Slam GOAT was on the field busting a move as the “Not Like Us” wordsmith made history as the first rapper to headline the show, dancing on top of one of the four spotlighted platforms at the corners of the stage.

Lamar won the Grammy for both Record and Song of the Year for his Drake diss track just one week ago.

Travis Kelce is a non-factor so far

By Andrew Battifarano

Travis Kelce had a huge divisional round game with over 100 yards and a touchdown. He had just two catches in the AFC title game.

What does Sunday’s game look like? Even worse than the previous one — so far.

Dubious history for Mahomes

By Ryan Dunleavy

Not used to seeing the Chiefs shut out in the first half?

No one is.

This is only the third time in Patrick Mahomes’ 133-game career (regular season and playoffs combined) that he has been shut out in the first half, according to NFL Network.

What’s more alarming? The Chiefs’ 23 total offensive yards also is the lowest of the Mahomes Era, which began in 2018 and has produced five Super Bowl appearances.

No surprise since he has been under constant pressure from the Eagles’ pass rush.

Super Bowl 2025 is starting to look a lot like Super Bowl 2021, when the Chiefs’ offensive line couldn’t protect Mahomes against the Buccaneers’ vaunted defensive line.

Mahomes ran for 501 yards behind the line of scrimmage as he tried to evade pressure and couldn’t get anything going in a 31-9 loss.

The Chiefs are used to trailing in Super Bowls.

But it may be getting late early.

“As you can imagine, a lot of emotion on the Chiefs’ sideline,” Andrews said on the Fox broadcast. “Of course, Travis Kelce with a couple of drops that he’s had today. The sideline was pretty calm and cool when they were down 10-0, then, of course, the pick-six, and we’re seeing different emotions.”
