Prince Harry birthday plans ruined as Meghan Markle suffers another setback

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have “alienated most Americans” in the aftermath of the couple’s California move, the director of the Margaret Thatcher Center for Freedom at The Heritage Foundation has exclusively told GB News.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, who tied the knot at Windsor Castle in 2018, stepped back from their roles as senior royals in January 2020.

The couple subsequently settled in Meghan’s native California with their then-five-month-old son, Prince Archie, now aged five.

In June 2021, the Sussexes welcomed their second child, a daughter named Princess Lilibet, now aged three.

Nile Gardiner, the director of the Margaret Thatcher Center for Freedom at The Heritage Foundation, spoke exclusively to GB News to explain the “extremely negative” reception in the US towards Meghan, 43, and Harry, 40.

He said: “Harry and Meghan are viewed as just massive narcissists who spend all the time trashing the Royal Family.

“Most Americans really admire the Royal Family.

“The Queen was hugely popular with Americans, and they don’t take kindly to attacks on the Royal Family.”

Following their move to the US, the couple infamously sat down for an explosive interview with Oprah Winfrey in 2021.

Meghan memorably claimed that Princess Kate “made her cry”, and alleged that an unnamed member of the Royal Family raised “concerns” over Prince Archie’s skin colour.

Following the interview, Prince William told reporters: “We are very much not a racist family.”

As well as the interview, the Sussexes starred in a Netflix documentary about themselves, and Harry published a memoir titled “Spare” in 2023.
