Netflix’s XO, Kitty returned to screens on January 16, featuring new addition to the cast.
The much-anticipated teen drama XO, Kitty has finally made its comeback on Netflix, nearly two years after its initial release.
Originating from a character in Jenny Han’s popular To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before book series, the drama kicked off its second season on January 16. It chronicles the romantic escapades of teenage matchmaker Kitty Song Covey at the Korean International School of Seoul (KISS).
Season two resumes with our 16-year-old protagonist back in school following a split with her first love Dae, who embarks on his own path of self-discovery.
Devoted fans will spot some fresh faces joining Kitty’s squad this year. Among the new additions is Joshua Lee, taking on the role of Jin, reports the Mirror.
As Netflix users dive into the eight-part series, we delve into the actor’s life away from the camera, including how he bagged the role on XO, Kitty.

Hailing from San Diego, Joshua is a triple threat – a dancer, singer and actor. His journey into the industry echoes that of his XO, Kitty character.
At the onset of season two, Jin is a track athlete striving to live up to his Olympian father’s legacy. However, as he carves out his identity, he realizes that his heart isn’t in the sport.
By the season finale, Jin feels compelled to pursue a different path in life.
Joshua, a Harvard Computer Science graduate, found himself at a similar career crossroads. Leaving behind the world of finance, he picked up his thespian dreams, something that now makes him beam with joy.
In an exclusive chat with The Mirror, Joshua shared: “I graduated from college with a Computer Science degree and I originally moved to New York for my corporate job.
“But I always had this itch in the back of my head that was telling me that I needed to make the jump and try making art for a living, and see where that takes me. And I’m so glad I did. I think Jin feels the same way. He’s glad that he’s leaving track behind so he can figure out who he is as a person.”
What else has Joshua starred in?

As for his acting credits, Joshua has made waves as Supreme on the smash-hit series Gangnam Project, where teens explore their Korean heritage through the pulsating world of K-Pop.
As Gangnam Project closed its last season, the actor based in New York hustled for his next big breaka role on Netflix no less.
Reflecting on this game-changing moment, Joshua recounted: “It kind of feels like all the stars aligned. I got the audition in early 2024 and had the best time doing it. I did a chemistry read over Zoom with Anthony, who plays Q, and I just remember the process being so much fun.”
The on-screen dynamic between Jin and Q has fans buzzing, with a swarm of tweets begging for more of the duo in future seasons.
Joshua, sharing his enthusiasm for the duo, exposed what made him gravitate towards his character, stating: “I think what really attracted me to him [Jin] is his sense of playfulness and that despite the façade of being a bad boy, he really cares about the people around him. He really cares about Q.”
