Calling all movie-loving San Antonians: Your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to find yourself at one of the same special screenings of Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning as Hollywood star Tom Cruise.
That’s right, the Oscar-nominated actor is visiting San Antonio on May 22 where he will stop by “some theaters” to say hello to moviegoers watching the film before it officially hits movie houses nationwide the following day.
Cruise made the announcement on the official Mission: Impossible Instagram page, along with other social media accounts. His announcement also revealed that he would be making a stop at Fort Sam Houston.
“Hi, everyone,” Cruise started his message. “On May 22, I’m coming to the great state of Texas, and I’ll be visiting Fort Sam Houston in San Antonio before stopping by some theaters to see you at some of the first screenings of Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning. Then, we’re going to fly to Dallas, where I’m going to get some delicious barbecue before going to more theaters to say hello, and I can’t wait. We’ll see you at the movies.”
Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning is the eighth installment in the film series. It picks up where the last film, 2023’s Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One, left off with IMF agent Ethan Hunt (Cruise) attempting to stop a sentient AI program known as “the Entity” from landing in the wrong hands.
We’re not sure how Cruise will make his entrance into San Antonio, but if there’s any way it could include hanging upside down from a helicopter, we wouldn’t mind. Even though Fiesta just ended, the city is ready for some more action!
