For possibly the sixth year in a row, the Sussex family will not be spending Christmas with the Royal Family. However, when Harry’s ‘Spare’ hit the market in January 2023, he was reportedly convinced that there’s still space for reconciliation. He even hinted at it during the TV interviews he did to promote the book.
Nevertheless, the wished-for reconciliation is yet to happen, or at least taking longer than expected to happen. I think Harry wants to eat his cake and have it too, don’t you think?
Prince Harry – Wants To Move On From Royal Family Drama and Focus On Charity
Prince Harry is beginning to see that the world, in fact, does not revolve around him, much less his family’s. Since his controversial exit from the Royal Family, William has made only one mention of him in public.
As for Charles, if you say Harry, he says “who?” Okay, maybe that one incident might have been a slip of the mind, but the King is ready to get back into the knack of things and is looking forward to more future royal tours.
Harry, in time, is beginning to realize that all the stone-throwing is not doing him much good, and would love nothing more than to move on from the drama he created himself.
Writing in a column for Woman, Emily Andrews observed: “Speaking to sources close to Harry, it’s clear that (his successful monetisation of it aside!) he’s tired of playing a bit part in a narrative of family conflict, and would like nothing more than to recover his reputation and become known, in time, as a serious player in the philanthropic world.”
Prince Harry – Thought He Had “A Long Time To Make Up” With His Family When He Dropped “Poisonous Truths”
Apart from that, insiders also claimed it was always Harry’s firm belief that he and father King Charles will find a way to reconcile despite his harsh criticisms.
Emily continued: “Yet there’s a theory doing the royal rounds – that Harry threw his truth bombs and vented his spleen to Oprah and Netflix, and (most poisonously of all) in his book, Spare, on the premise that he would have a long time to make up with his dad.”
These sources claim Harry has always felt that it would be better for him to make a deal with Charles as King than with William. However, the King’s cancer diagnosis seems to put a time restriction on all reconciliation moves.
