Despite remaining one of the best-reviewed shows on TV, Abbott Elementary season 4 has seen a steady decrease in its ratings, ultimately becoming the least-watched scripted show in ABC’s current lineup. While I think the upcoming It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia will help give it a momentary boost, I think the general difference in the show’s demographics won’t necessarily keep Sunny fans around for future episodes, and since season 5 has yet to be confirmed by the network, I’m certainly worried its continued awards attention won’t be enough to carry it.
