A Star Is Born? John Legend’s Daughter Makes an Unexpected The Voice Cameo—And It’s the Cutest Moment Yet

OMG, hi Luna!

The Voice: Season 17, Episode 2 | Rotten Tomatoes

Did you catch Luna Stephens’ blink-and-you’ll-miss-it cameo on the latest episode of The Voice? Luna, Coach John Legend’s daughter, made a split-second appearance at the top of the episode, hanging backstage with her dad.

Watch The Voice on Mondays and Tuesdays at 8/7c on NBC and next day on Peacock.

At the beginning of Episode 3 of the Blind Auditions, eagle-eyed viewers may have spotted Legend and his eldest child going head to head in hockey in the lounge area. No, not the kind of hockey that gets Canadians like Coach Michael Bublé excited, but air hockey played on a table.

Luna is no stranger to The Voice set, having visited with her brother in seasons past. And the easy commute between work and home is one of Legend’s favorite things about the job. ”I also love that, you know, I live here in Los Angeles, I have four kids. It’s nice to work at home, basically, you know? And [to] be able to take my kids to school in the morning and then go to work,” he told NBC Insider.

Whether she’s trying singing or visual art, Luna Stephens is already a creative. In August 2024, Legend revealed that he’d secretly recorded an album of kids songs and lullabies, and not only did Luna and her brother Miles sing on a track, she also designed all of the album artwork.

“The first single is the signature anthem for the album,” Legend revealed online. “It’s called ‘L-O-V-E’ and it features Chrissy, Luna, and Miles singing backing vocals (Luna’s & Miles’s first album credit!). And Luna designed and drew all the single covers for the album too!”

In addition to Luna, Legand and his wife Chrissy Teigen share sons Miles and Wren and baby daughter Esti. Raising good kids is a responsibility the family takes seriously. “We always want to teach them that it’s important for them to give back, for them to serve and to be kind and to be helpful when other people are in need,” Legend revealed to PureWow. “Be kind. Be giving. Be generous with your time and with your resources.”
