British royal family news divulges that each week for the past eight months King Charles has been driven from Clarence House to the site of his cancer treatment. But King Charles has decided to stop treatment—albeit temporarily.
What is behind King Charles’ unusual decision, and what does it signify? Keep reading to discover what some are saying about the regent’s surprising choice.
King Charles And Queen Camilla On An Extended Tour
The lapse in treatment comes as King Charles and Queen Camilla prepare for an 11-day royal tour of Australia.
It’s said that the King’s doctors have given their permission for him to skip treatment and it’s not known if Charles would have made the same decision if they did not give their blessing.
Could it be that Charles is forging full steam ahead in a bid to remain king? Stranger things have happened.
Royal Family News: King Charles to Temporarily Stop Treatment
The three minute video showed Kate, Prince William, and their three children which is not surprising. But the inclusion of her parents, Mike and Carole Middleton, caught some off guard.
The Middleton family looked adorable and close, and Charles was not included in the warm clip, not even via a picture or verbal reference.
It’s now been reported by The Daily Beast writer Tom Sykes that the Waleses’ taped message “wasn’t signed off by the king … executive power and influence is already flowing William’s way.”
Royal Family News: Is William Squeezing Out Charles?
Sykes wrote: “To get away with such cheek showed William and Kate have an instinctive understanding … of how the power dynamic has shifted since the king’s diagnosis.”
Which is not to say that there is anything insidious taking place. As William has stepped forward, Charles has been afforded the time needed to convalesce.
A source told the Daily Mail that the king’s schedule leading up to the Australian trip “has been kept deliberately light for His Majesty … Australia is a big deal and he wants to be fighting fit.”
Tell us royal fans, how reassuring is it to know that the current and the next king are working in tandem to keep the country’s interests at the forefront?
