The Controversial Joke Disney Tried to Cut from Deadpool & Wolverine Finally Revealed

Deadpool & Wolverine's Funniest, Craziest and Most Bat-Sh!t Cameos and Easter Eggs | Den of Geek

We had heard rumours of a joke in Deadpool & Wolverine that was so filthy that Disney had to step in and ask for it to be removed/changed, but it’s finally been revealed.

According to the team, the studio had been pretty AOK with most of what they had planned, but there was one joke in particular that they decided was a little too much.

The script for the film has been officially released, and eagle-eyed readers quickly spotted a thoroughly filthy joke that didn’t make the cut in the film, releasing that this is the one the Mouse House asked to change.

So what is the Deadpool and Wolverine joke Disney wanted changed?

The joke itself is very on brand for a Deadpool movie, but as it involved their main mascot, Mickey Mouse, we can see why they might have been a little iffy about it remaining in the movie.

When Wade and Logan meet Elektra, Blade and Gambit, they learn that Magneto won’t be joining their team of renegades, and needless to say, Deadpool isn’t pleased.

He says: ‘F**K! What we can’t even afford one more X-Man? Disney is so cheap.’ and the scripted version of the joke adds: ‘I can barely breathe with all this Mickey Mouse cock in my throat.’

The joke punchline that actually made it into the film is just as filthy though, with the screened version saying: ‘It’s like Pinocchio jamming his nose up my ass for lying like crazy.’

Writer and director Shawn Levy had indicated back in August that he and Ryan had planned to take the joke ‘to the grave’, but now it is out there into the world because Disney shared the original scripted version.

He added that when they were asked to ‘clean it up’, it was Reynolds who offerred up the Pinocchio replacement.

‘I was like, “Ryan, that’s your replacement line in response to, can we clean it up?” That’s Ryan Reynolds for you, audacious to the very edge,’ he shared.
