Josh Kettler stepped down as Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s chief of staff just days before they started their tour of Colombia, with one expert suggesting it’s a worrying sign.
Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are facing mounting pressure following the departure of their chief of staff Josh Kettler.
It’s believed Josh’s departure was a “mutual decision”, but no reason for his move has been given. Amid the drama, Harry and Meghan have been facing “pressure” in their businesses, according to royal expert Tom Quinn.
Speaking exclusively to The Mirror US, Quinn said: “Harry and Meghan‘s relationship always improves when their business ventures are going well but under pressure and with failure looming the cracks begin to show. The couple’s film ventures have not so far been a great success and Meghan’s internet brand has been heavily criticized.
“Like most couples Harry and Meghan tend to blame each other when things are not going well. When Harry’s Chief of staff Josh Kettler quit recently after less than three months in the job that just compounded the couple’s difficulties – especially when we remember that Meghan and Harry have lost 19 staff since they married in 2018.”
Indeed, Meghan and Harry have lost several staff members over the years including Bennet Levine, Ben Browning and Rebecca Sananes. Quinn suggested the Sussexes have different expectations of their staff.
He claimed: “One of the key issues is that Harry and Meghan don’t always agree about how good their staff actually are – Harry is generally more laid back about these things but Meghan expects instant results. Meghan also hates the fact that she is always the driving force behind the couple’s various ventures.
“Harry just doesn’t have the drive and ambition she would like him to have. He just has his royal status which is why the couple fall back on touring when all else seems to be failing.
“Meghan really hates the fact that all the work seems to fall on her shoulders. That also puts a strain on the couple’s relationship – a strain that will only get worse if the Columbia tour is not seen as a success.”
