Prince William and Prince Harry’s relationship has deteriorated drastically over the last few years. The two brothers were once close, but when Harry gained some independence from the royals after meeting Meghan Markle, cracks began to show in his relationship with his brother.
Harry and William recently attended an event together, where they did not speak to one another. And a subtle comment from William after the fact could be interpreted as a direct attack on his younger brother.

Prince William’s 6-word remark after meeting with Prince Harry
William and Harry both recently attended a memorial service for Lord Robert Fellowes, their uncle on their mother Princess Diana’s side. Many were surprised that Harry attended the event, but he and William didn’t speak or sit together despite being in the same room.
William then took to X on the official Prince and Princess of Wales account, where he tweeted about his homeless charity foundation, Homewards. “This is what it’s all about,” the tweet read.
But those six words might be William’s way of subtly sending a message to his brother. William is focused on his royal charities and special projects to improve others’ way of life; he is not focused on improving his relationship with Harry and reportedly doesn’t consider Harry a “priority.” The six-word message could be the Prince of Wales best way of saying he doesn’t want any part of the drama or the headlines with his brother because that will never be his focus.
Harry and William have struggled to maintain any contact as the brothers reportedly don’t speak at all and haven’t done so since Queen Elizabeth II’s funeral back in 2022.
Prince Harry and Prince William might never reconcile
The two brothers have a long history together, but it hasn’t been enough for them to fix what’s broken right now. Harry and William grew apart quite a bit after Harry met Meghan, and although Harry claims he wanted to fix it, there have been few claims that William was willing to do the same. The brothers have iced each other out, and it’s hard to imagine a world where they work through things.
Harry brought many things to light between his interviews and memoir once he left the family; he even suggested that William only married Kate Middleton because she fit the mold and not because he was destined to be with her. The words reportedly sent William into a fury, and badmouthing one another’s wives is a big part of the reason why the brothers are on such poor terms. Time will tell if they’re ever able to sort through the mess, but it doesn’t seem like it right now.
