Secret Invasion Didn’t Ruin Anything About Robert Downey Jr’s Death in Avengers: Endgame: Many Marvel Fans Are Still Confused With Skrulls’ Role in Battle Against Thanos

Secret Invasion’s plot was so confusing, fans are not even sure about the timeline of the events that were revealed in the show.

The Skrull’s entry into the MCU with Captain Marvel was met with a lot of excitement, given that it opened the doors for one of Marvel’s greatest stories. However, after Thanos, the franchise decided to pivot into the multiverse, placing Kang as its main antagonist.

Secret Invasion would have a place in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, but in the form of a streaming show, focused on Nick Fury and something called The Harvest. However, this show also revealed some things that made a lot of character moments in the past completely meaningless in retrospect.

It was revealed in Secret Invasion in Rhodey was among the heroes who were replaced by Skrulls. While it is yet to be revealed how far back the switch goes, fans know that Rhodey has been a Skrull since at least Avengers: Endgame, which makes his last goodbye to Tony completely meaningless. This, however, is lost on a few fans who are struggling to figure out what role did the Skrulls play at all in the fight with Thanos.

With the abysmal reviews that Secret Invasion ended up getting, there seems to be a slew of issues with how fans remember the show. There were so many moving parts in Secret Invasion, with the super Skrulls and the harvest, people are not even sure what the show was trying to say in the first place. Further, it was a huge waste of a perfectly good Saga for a streaming show, that most fans decided to skip anyway.

Secret Invasion still has the potential to be the next big saga of the MCU

Secret Invasion’s gimmick might have been taken up by the show focusing on Nick Fury, but come Avengers: Secret Wars. the studio has an opportunity to make right some wrongs with a soft reboot of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Secret Invasion has the makings of a great overarching plot, similar to Infinity Saga. It will be able to provide each entry into the MCU with a lot of intrigue, and also tie in the various factions of the MCU together.

Be it The Fantastic Four, The X-Men, The Avengers, or the cosmic side of the MCU, A Secret Invasion plot could be a more cohesive story to break down into multiple parts, which could also, lend credence to the Kree-Skrull conflict that Captain Marvel’s actions could have perpetrated

Secret Wars can be streamed on Disney+
