Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are experiencing “sleepless nights” following Donald Trump’s victory in the presidential election, according to a royal commentator.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have so far remained silent on Trump’s win. However, questions over Harry’s visa application have resurfaced after the president-elect called out revelations he made about his past drug use in his memoir, Spare.

Royal commentator Lee Cohen is worried for Harry and Meghan, suggesting that while Trump may not prioritize Harry’s visa records, his election will “give cause for anxiety” to the couple, who currently live in Montecito, California.

He said: “It seems like divine justice or karma that the fortunes of the Sussex bosses have taken such a turn. Over the past year, bad behavior and bad judgements have been catching up with them.”

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle could be in trouble

Speaking to GB News, Cohen added: “I don’t know if this [Harry’s visa] will be Donald Trump’s first priority, but it certainly should give cause for some anxiety in Montecito.”

Trump has repeatedly criticized Harry and Meghan and threatened to deport Harry after he admitted to taking drugs. In his memoir, Harry confessed to using drugs, including cocaine, cannabis, and magic mushrooms. He admitted that cocaine “didn’t do anything for me.”

Harry further disclosed: “Marijuana is different, that actually really did help me.” According to US law, previous drug use could be a reason to reject a visa application.

In a conversation on GB News with Nigel Farage, Trump suggested Harry could face consequences for his shocking confessions. When asked by Farage if there would be any “special privileges” for Harry, Trump responded: “No. We’ll have to see if they know something about the drugs, and if he lied, they’ll have to take appropriate action.”

Farage pushed for more details, asking: “Appropriate action? Which might mean…not staying in America?” Trump didn’t reveal much, answering: “Oh I don’t know. You’ll have to tell me. You just have to tell me. You would have thought they would have known this a long time ago.”

Harry and Meghan moved to America after leaving the UK in 2020. They currently live in Montecito with their two young children – Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet.
