After Loki’s great sacrifice in Loki season 2, it seems Sophia Di Martino’s Sylvie and Chris Hemsworth’s Thor might cross paths.
Since Thor: Love and Thunder‘s debacle, the future of Chris Hemsworth in the MCU remains uncertain. While it remains to be seen if a fifth film will get greenlit or not, following the scale of the next Avengers flick, it’s safe to say the MCU won’t miss out on bringing one of the OG Avengers back.
As for what we can expect from his potential return, rumors have emerged, claiming the God of Thunder will meet Sophia Di Martino’s Sylvie, which might not be totally off the cards following the latter’s previous statements.
Sylvie and Thor’s Crossover Has The Potential To Be a Real Tear-jerker
Even though the MCU has struggled on the TV side of things, Loki seasons 1 and 2 were the exceptions, especially season 2, which beautifully culminated Loki’s arc. Once the self-centered god of mischief, in the season 2 finale, Tom Hiddleston‘s Loki sacrifices himself to save the multiverse.
However, not many in the universe are aware of Loki’s great sacrifice, and if the rumors of Sylvie meeting Thor are true, the potential scene between them could prove to be a real tear-jerker. On the flip side, it’s also important to note that there isn’t any substantial weight to these rumors, so one should take them with a grain of salt.
But this isn’t the first time when discussions about a potential reunion between the siblings emerged, as Sophia Di Martino previously entertained this idea.
Sophia Di Martino Is on Board With a Potential Crossover With Chris Hemsworth’s Thor
While it can’t be said for sure what the MCU holds for Sylvie post-Loki season 2, the actress won’t mind returning for a third season. As for a potential crossover with Chris Hemsworth‘s Thor, Martino feels it’d be great to see them interact, especially if Hiddleston’s Loki is also in the mix.
I think it would be great to see Sylvie and Thor. I think it would be fun to see them get wound up, especially if Loki is in the equation. Three siblings together? The dynamic would be interesting.
Tom Hiddleston, on the other hand, is satisfied with how Loki’s story concluded with Loki season 2, stressing “it was creatively fulfilling to bring something full circle”.
I feel so proud of where we’ve ended up in Season 2. It was very creatively fulfilling to bring something full circle. I always saw him from the very first film as a broken soul with a shattered heart who felt like he didn’t belong … all that grief hardens into grievance.
Even though Hemsworth wasn’t the biggest fan of his last Thor outing, the Furiosa star is open to helming the role again if the tone is drastically different than Love and Thunder.
Loki is available to stream on Max.
