Everything we know about Erik Kripke and the crew going back in time to create more Supe antics

Erik Kripke and co head back in time for more Supe antics

Jensen Ackles and Aya Cash in The Boys

Those bad Supes in The Boys are busy folks, with series creator Eric Kripke revealing plans for a new spin-off series entitled Vought Rising that’ll be offending soon on Prime Video.

The show marks the latest off-shoot from Kripke’s bodily-fluid-soaked adaptation of Garth Ennis and Darick Robertson’s graphic novel series of the same name.

Animated anthology series The Boys Presents: Diabolical came first in 2022 with the latest, Gen V, landing in late 2023 and introducing us to a new group of young heroes-in-training at an elite yet sinister high school.

With Vought Rising, Kripke and new series showrunner Paul Grellong plan to dive even deeper into the lore surrounding Vought, the pharmaceutical company that made the Compound V that created all of the show’s moral-free heroes.

Here’s everything we know about it so far.

Vought Rising is currently without a release date.

The show was first unveiled during 2024’s San Diego Comic-Con, which means production on it is still very much in its early stages.

Thanks to an Instagram post from Billy Butcher star Karl Urban, we know that the fifth and final series of The Boys will land in 2026. This means that Vought Rising could air on Prime Video before Kripke’s core show comes to an end.

If this is the case, then perhaps we’ll see Vought Rising debut in late 2025. This turnaround is tight but not impossible, with season one of Gen V being shot, edited and released in a similar timeframe.

Gen V is also set to get a second season, with many convinced that it’ll arrive in mid-2025 — although Prime Video has yet to make anything official.

Vought Rising will tell the origin story of Vought, the evil company at the heart of The Boys, with two well-known characters — Soldier Boy and Stormfront — at its core.

“We are excited to bring you the next deranged series from the world of The Boys,” said Kripke and Grellong in a shared statement.

“It’s a twisted murder mystery about the origins of Vought in the 1950s, the early exploits of Soldier Boy, and the diabolical manoeuvres of a Supe known to fans as Stormfront, who was then going by the name Clara Vought.

“We cannot wait to blow your minds and trouble your souls with this salacious, grisly saga drenched in blood and Compound V,” said executive producer Eric Kripke and series showrunner and executive producer Paul Grellong.

For those unfamiliar with these two Supes, Soldier Boy is largely believed to have been the strongest of all the heroes in The Boys universe. After becoming a Captain America-style hero in the 1950s, his bad behaviour led his team to sell him out to the Russians, with many back home believing he was dead.

He later reappeared to face off against Homelander before being once again put on ice.

Meanwhile, Stormfront became a member of superhero group The Seven in The Boys season 2 but it soon became clear that she was sadistic Nazi intent on using Homelander to gain power and popularity.

Jensen Ackles and Aya Cash will return to play Solider Boy and Storefront respectively.

The pair popped up during The Boys Comic-Con panel to announce Vought Rising. They’ll also serve as executive producers on the show.

As it stands, Ackles and Cash are the only two cast members confirmed to star in the spin-off. However, with Vought Rising working as part of a larger, inter-connected universe, it’s unlikely that they’ll be the only familiar faces to appear.

As soon as we have any additional casting news, you’ll find it here.
