Nobody Wants This is returning for a second season on Netflix and there’s an exciting update about the cast!

Also, there will be two new showrunners for season two with Girls‘ Jenni Konner and Bruce Eric Kaplan will be taking over from Jack Burditt. The show’s creator Erin Foster will be back for season two as an executive producer and writer.

Nobody Wants This follows Kristen Bell‘s Joanne falling in love with a rabbi named Noah, played by Adam Brody. At the end of the first season, Joanne realizes she’s not ready to convert to Judaism to be with Noah and tries to break up with him as she wants him to take the head rabbi position. He follows her out of the party they’re at and says he still wants to be with her and they share a kiss.

So, who is going to be in season two?

Nobody Wants This

Kristen Bell – DEFINITELY RETURNING FOR SEASON 2

Kristen Bell will definitely be back as Joanne!

In an interview with VarietyKristen noted that she just wants the second season to be clever and sweet, without many twists and turns.

“The second season, we’re not going to have Godzilla make an entrance. It’s not going to become an alien show. No evil twins,” she said.

Adam Brody – DEFINITELY RETURNING FOR SEASON 2

Adam Brody will definitely be back as Noah!

“I’m very excited just to follow Erin [Foster]’s lead and the story she wants to tell and this relationship she wants to explore. I think there will be and should be [elements going] back to his religion, which is his job, which is his passion. I still think there’s a reckoning coming in terms of, these people have very different worldviews,” Adam told Deadline. “Again, it’s not just his religion. It’s his job and it’s his life’s work. There’s many more conversations to be had about, are we going to either see eye to eye on this, or if we don’t, is that compatible? Can we not share this in the same way but still have a relationship where enough is shared to make it worth it? Therein lies a big crux of the drama.”

Nobody Wants This

Justine Lupe – DEFINITELY RETURNING FOR SEASON 2

Justine Lupe will definitely be back as Joanne’s sister Morgan.

When asked in a recent interview if she wants to see Morgan end up with Sasha in season two, she said she’d rather see them be friends.

“For me, I’m like, isn’t there so much more fun to be mined out of us becoming these weird friends than there is to destroying a family? It’s not fun,” she said.

Nobody Wants This

Timothy Simons – DEFINITELY RETURNING FOR SEASON 2

Timothy Simons will be back as Noah’s brother Sasha.

Back in October 2024, Timothy confirmed to Vanity Fair that he was getting ready to hear a season two pitch for his character.

“I’m going in later this week to meet the writers’ room for the first time. That’s the first time that I’ll be hearing an overview of what the season’s going to look like. They’re trying to get it out with some regularity. A lot of TV shows are like, ‘Three and a half years from now, we’ll see the first half of the second season,’” he said at the time.

Nobody Wants This

Jackie Tohn – PROMOTED TO SERIES REGULAR FOR SEASON 2

Jackie Tohn was a recurring guest star for season one while playing Sasha’s wife Esther. Now, she’s going to be promoted to a series regular for season two, according to TVLine.

Jackie recently told Deadline that filming starts in March.

“We start March 3,” she said. “It’s been a whirlwind. It sort of feels like we haven’t stopped since Season 1, because we came out and then we were doing press. Then we were sort of thrust right into awards season, which was sort of insane that we were even included in that conversation. And now, we’re starting Season 2 already. It’s sort of just going, it’s awesome.”

Nobody Wants This

Tovah Feldshuh and Paul Ben-Victor – SEEMINGLY RETURNING

We can’t imagine Nobody Wants This without Noah and Sasha’s parents, so we’re going to assume that Tovah Feldshuh and Paul Ben-Victor will be back as well.
