The King wants a top maid who will have the offer of living in and travelling to other Royal residences including Balmoral and the Palace of Holyroodhouse in Scotland.

The Senior Housekeeping Assistant will motivate their team “to achieve the highest standards of presentation time and time again”. The one year fixed term contract starts in February and offers a “competitive” salary plus benefits.

“It’s leading the way to deliver exceptional results. It’s feeling proud of your contribution. And it’s joining the professional team behind an outstanding hospitality service. This is what makes a career at the Royal Household so different,” says the advert on the Royal website.

“Based at Windsor Castle, you’ll supervise a small team of housekeeping assistants. In a varied and dynamic role, you’ll oversee the team’s day-to-day activities, and motivate them to achieve the highest standards of presentation time and time again.

“You’ll monitor day-to-day duties and oversee the efficient preparation of rooms for functions, events and accommodation. You’ll plan and prioritise alongside a busy calendar of events, and whether managing rotas, logistics or resources, you’ll ensure your team are in place and ready to support the housekeeping services.

“You’ll also support the wider department taking on front-of-house duties and supporting the busy event schedule. People management will be a large part of the role too; you’ll support the ongoing personal development of a highly dedicated team.

“You’ll also lead by example, training ‘on-the-job’ and guiding those around you to develop their skills. And by encouraging ideas and adapting to each new situation, you’ll be a driving force behind the housekeeping team.

“This role is an accommodated position. Although principally based at Windsor, the role will see you and your team travelling to and working at other royal residencies throughout the year.

“You’ll have previous housekeeping experience already and, being committed to the industry, you’ll be looking to take the first step in your leadership career. With an in-depth knowledge of housekeeping techniques and a meticulous eye for detail, you can be relied on to deliver to the highest standard.” Applications close on November 10.
