Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have been criticised after the Duchess spoke about herself rather than the causes she is supporting in a recent interview.
Meghan opened up about her previous mental health struggles, saying she has still not yet “scraped the surface on my experience” of having suicidal thoughts.
She said: “I think it is wildly inappropriate to make an interview like that about yourself. You will not see the Princess of Wales do a sit-down interview and laugh and smile her way through a cancer conversation.
“Harry and Meghan not only lack credibility, but they lack self-awareness, and I cannot imagine what kind of hell it must be to work for these two.”
In the interview with CBS, Meghan said: “When you’ve been through any level of pain or trauma, I believe part of our healing journey, certainly part of mine, is being able to be really open about it.
“And you know, I haven’t really scraped the surface of my experience. But I do think that I would never want someone else to feel that way.
“And I would never want someone else to be making those sorts of plans. And I would never want someone else to not be believed.
“If me voicing what I have overcome will save someone, or encourage someone in their life to really genuinely check in on them and not assume that the appearance is good, so everything’s okay, then that’s worth it.
