The Marvel Cinematic Universe is reportedly looking to bring back Elizabeth Olsen’s Scarlet Witch in the upcoming Vision TV show. Ever since the Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness ending, the fate of Wanda Maximoff has been one of the most discussed aspects of the MCU, with many wondering whether she will ever return. While the MCU has confirmed Scarlet Witch died in the Phase 4 film, dead characters don’t always stay dead, especially in superhero stories.
In a new report from Deadline about the upcoming Vision series, the trade reported they are hearing that Marvel Studios is possibly eying a Scarlet Witch return for Olsen, reuniting her with long-time co-star Paul Bettany. At the time of this story’s publication, Marvel Studios and Disney+ have not commented on Olsen’s possible return in Vision. However, Deadline notes that it would make sense considering the characters’ history.
How Scarlet Witch Could Return In Marvel’s Vision Show Despite Her Death
While time will tell if Olsen’s Scarlet Witch actually returns in the Vision TV show, it won’t come as a shock if Wanda does end up being part of the series. Since Avengers: Age of Ultron, Wanda and Vision have been close, with their relationship becoming one of the few romances that has actually worked within the MCU. Having Bettany and Olsen reunited in Vision in any capacity is only natural, especially with the titular hero still coming to terms with being alive again after the events of WandaVision.
However, what’s crucial to remember is that since Vision is coming out in 2026, it will be nearly two years after the Agatha All Along TV show, which is serving as the second chapter of what’s becoming a WandaVision trilogy. There have been a lot of theories that Agatha All Along will somehow see the resurrection of Scarlet Witch, which would naturally set her up to have a potential role in future projects, including the Vision series.
If Agatha All Along ends with Wanda being reborn, it will make sense for Marvel Studios to then announce that Olsen will next be seen in Vision, hence why they haven’t confirmed or debunked this report. With Vision expected to start filming in 2025, time will tell how much Scarlet Witch could factor into his show, especially following the news of James Spader’s Ultron coming back too. But for now, the MCU audience will have to wait and see what becomes of the Vision show.
