“The Boys” Season 5 has cast Mason Dye in a guest star role, Variety has learned.
Dye will appear in the role of Bombsight. Exact character details are being kept under wraps, but the character was previously mentioned in Season 4 of “The Boys” as a Supe who starred in the early Vought superhero film “The Curse of Fu Manchu” in the 1950’s.
According to sources, Bombsight could also potentially appear in the upcoming prequel series “Vought Rising” opposite Jensen Ackles and Aya Cash. Reps for Amazon and Sony Pictures Television declined to comment on the “Vought Rising” component of the casting.
Dye is the latest new cast member to join “The Boys” Season 5, which will also be the show’s last season. It was previously reported that Daveed Diggs would be joining in an undisclosed series regular role.
Dye is perhaps best known for his role in the fourth season of “Stranger Things,” playing Hawkins High basketball star Jason Carver. He is also known for his appearances on the popular MTV series “Teen Wolf” as well as Lifetime’s “Flowers in the Attic,” “My Stepdaughter,” “Stalker’s Prey,” and “The Wrong Son.” He has starred in films such as “Natural Selection,” “Vanished – Left Behind: Next Generation,” and “Truth or Dare.”
He is repped by CESD, Amplified, Industry Entertainment, and Goodman Genow
“The Boys” is based on the New York Times best-selling comic of the same name by Garth Ennis and Darick Robertson. Moritz, Pavun Shetty, Phil Sgriccia, Michaela Starr, Paul Grellong, David Reed, Meredith Glynn, Judalina Neira, Ken F. Levin and Jason Netter, along with Ennis and Robertson. The series is produced by Sony Pictures Television and Amazon MGM Studios, with Kripke Enterprises, Original Film, and Point Grey Pictures.
