Neighbours of Meghan Markle and Prince Harry in Montecito, California, are reportedly growing increasingly frustrated with the couple, with one even stating they “cannot wait for her to leave.”
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle ‘s neighbours are reportedly growing frustrated with the couple and have expressed desire for them to leave.
The Duke of Sussex, who recently celebrated his 40th birthday, and his wife made headlines after stepping back from royal duties in January 2020. Shortly after, they relocated to California, purchasing a £12 million mansion with their children, Archie and Lilibet.
Now, some neighbours have begun speaking out about living near one of the world’s most talked-about couples, reports the Mirror. One neighbour, in a scathing comment to The News, said they “cannot wait for [Meghan] to go,” according to the Express.
Frank McGinity, an 88-year-old navy veteran who also lives nearby, shared a more measured perspective. He recalled how his attempt to share local history films with the Sussexes, as a welcoming gesture, was turned away by their security. In his memoir, Get Off Your Street, Frank described feeling that the couple “aren’t interested.”
Frank also expressed surprise at their choice to move into the Riven Rock Estate, which he noted is mostly home to older residents. “We don’t see them very much around here,” he told the Montecito Journal, as reported by the Scottish Daily Express.
Earlier this month, another neighbour, Richard Mineards, expressed to The Telegraph his disappointment at how rarely Harry and Meghan are seen in the neighbourhood. While Harry is occasionally spotted with his security team during public outings—whether cycling, walking on the beach, or dining out—Meghan has been seen less frequently, often lunching with friends or shopping.
