Scrapped MCU Blade Plans, Lost Cast & Villain Revealed By Shocking Development Hell Report

A new Marvel Cinematic Universe report goes deeper into the many issues affecting the upcoming Blade reboot. Since the initial announcement in July 2019 at San Diego Comic-Con, Mahershala Ali’s Blade movie has become one of the most tumultuous MCU installments for Marvel Studios. With two directors having exited the film at this point, Blade is now becoming a bigger fascination in the superhero movie genre as the world waits to see what happens with the upcoming MCU release.

One report from The Hollywood Reporter recently revealed numerous details that have been following the Blade film behind the scenes, referencing Delroy Lindo and Aaron Pierre’s exists from the project, and most notably detailing that, “the version that was aiming to shoot last year was set in the 1920s, according to sources, and featured Mia Goth as a vampire villain named Lilith who wanted the blood of Blade’s daughter.” As of right now, the Blade script is being rewritten by The Fantastic Four’s Eric Pearson and will be worked on during the summer before it goes out to directors.

The MCU Blade Movie’s Production Issues Explained

While time will tell when the Blade movie gets a new director, the big MCU report reveals a lot of new information about the troubled reboot. To start with, the director search got complex after Bassam Tariq’s exit, as Ali, who has reportedly had a lot of frustrations during the Blade process, began his own search for a replacement, being supposedly not happy with Marvel Studios’ proposed list of various filmmakers.

The Blade cast update that Deloy Lindo and Aaron Pierre is similarly complicated news, as the respective acting talents of both figures were sure to have benefited the movie. Interestingly, Mia Goth appears to be still attached to the project, meaning she could well still play Lilith in the final script if the reports of her character hold true, even if this is in an altered role that may see her not be the film’s antagonist.

Even though it doesn’t appear that Blade will be canceled, Marvel Studios will want to ensure production gets proper time to unfold, as the troubles the movie has experienced mean there is likely to be a more critical eye focused on the final film. As such, the picture painted by the reports makes it sound not impossible that the release could even be pushed back further, to ensure those working on it now don’t have to rush the process. Whatever the case, hopefully Blade will be released by Marvel Studios within the relatively near future.
