Meghan Markle left Suits in 2018 when she became engaged to Prince Harry. But former co-star Gabriel Macht says ‘never say never’ about a Rachel Zane cameo in the new Suits LA
Meghan Markle could be making a return to Suits, one of her former co-stars has hinted.
The actor retired from her role as Rachel Zane following her engagement to Prince Harry, but with the new Suits LA taking fans by storm, there may be a chance of seeing her return to the franchise. Actor Gabriel Macht, who starred as Harvey Specter in the original Suits series, discussed stepping back into Harvey’s shoes in the new spin-off.
Speaking on Extra TV, Macht said his character is at a “really happy” place in his personal life. “I think that he, you know, he’s a guy who has so much integrity,” he said.
“He’s got a heart of gold and, you know, obviously he does things not by the book at times, but when it comes to old friends and people in need and where he really believes that he can help out in a meaningful way, he steps up,” Gabriel added.

He reprised his role in a three-episode storyline, establishing a connection with Suits LA protagonist Ted Black (Stephen Amell). Gabriel told the Hollywood Reporter, “I thought, ‘You know what? I could give something back to the fans because they’re so, so hungry for more of this character. And if I can support the show in my way and bring some eyes to it, that might be a really nice thing to pass the baton.”
Opening up about his return to the series, Gabriel noted that Suits LA features some “sweet Easter eggs” for eagle-eyes viewers. “Aaron Korsh, who writes the show, I think he left a couple really sweet Easter eggs that will fulfill some of the fans’ desires for, you know, what’s going on in Harvey’s life,” he said.
On a potential return for Meghan Markle, he teasingly hinted “never say never”. Gabriel admitted he hadn’t seen Meghan’s latest Netflix show, With Love, Meghan, but said he wished “all good things for Meghan.”
“I hope she’s doing great,” he added. Meghan could follow in the footsteps of other acting giants, such as Brendan Fraser, who made a triumphant return to movies in 2022 after 15 years away from the spotlight, according to PR expert Edward Coram-James, CEO of Go Up.
Speaking to Express.co.uk, he explained, “Meghan had a legitimate career in acting before she left Hollywood for royal life. Suits was a very successful legal drama that built a loyal audience.
“Meghan had strong screen presence, charisma, and comedic timing, and she held her own alongside seasoned actors. With the right role, she could make a real comeback.”
