Deadpool & Spider-Man Is The MCU Movie Shawn Levy Would ‘Love To Make’ After Deadpool & Wolverine

Shawn Levy reveals his dream of wanting to direct a Marvel Cinematic Universe movie with Deadpool and Spider-Man after helming Deadpool & Wolverine. Ryan Reynolds is finally joining the MCU movie timeline, since Deadpool & Wolverine will presumably see Wade Wilson leave the Fox-Marvel universe behind. With Deadpool becoming a full-fledged MCU player, it opens the door for him to engage with various heroes and villains in the massive franchise.

In the latest issue of Total Film (via Games Radar), Levy chatted about other MCU projects he would love to tackle after his work on Deadpool & Wolverine. Sticking with Deadpool, Levy stressed that he would be interested in directing a movie with Deadpool and Spider-Man. He shared the following:

The thing about Deadpool is I think he makes everything more interesting because of his audacity. But, boy, I’d sure love to see Deadpool and Spidey. That’s a movie I’d love to make. I feel like Tom Holland would run circles around everyone else.

Why A Deadpool & Spider-Man Movie Would Be Perfect For The MCU

With Tom Holland’s Spider-Man 4 still being developed, a Deadpool and Spider-Man movie would be a perfect installment for him after his upcoming sequel. Right now, Peter Parker is on his own after everyone was made to forget him due to Doctor Strange’s spell at the end of Spider-Man: No Way HomeSpider-Man 4 will likely see him go through a very rough patch as he is now having to navigate a world where he doesn’t have any friends or family.

However, once he has faced this emotional journey in Spider-Man 4, a Deadpool and Spider-Man team-up could be a lot more fitting. Not only would it be fun to see Peter meet someone like Wade, but this could introduce a new concept for Spider-Man’s live-action legacy, as Deadpool could literally show him the power of breaking the fourth wall. A Deadpool and Spider-Man movie would also fit the direction for Peter in the MCU, as Marvel is seemingly looking to explore more of his street-level side.

Having Reynolds and Holland working together would also be one of the biggest collaborations for the MCU, especially after Deadpool & Wolverine. However, it would likely not be until Phase 7, at the very earliest, that a project like that could happen, since Marvel Studios is focusing on wrapping up The Multiverse Saga. Hopefully, since Deadpool & Wolverine is on track to be a box office success for Marvel Studios, it will allow something like a Deadpool and Spider-Man movie to become a reality.
